Grease: Preparations

by ForeversEnough

Everything in the first chapter. I don’t own Buffy or any characters, and some lines are taken from the movie Grease.

Author’s Note: Thanks for all of the reviews before, and keep reading and reviewing! I’m really sorry that it was a lot like ‘Seeing Red’. Personally, it bugged me to write too, but my beta thought I had to keep it in there. The story will bounce back from there, I promise! Read and review!

Song note: I had to put tomorrow, because, well, it’s not the weekend!

Grease

Chapter 21

Spike looked at her retreating form and sighed in defeat. ‘What the hell did you do you wanker?’ Spike mentally scolded himself. ‘Thinking with the wrong head mate.’ He got out of the car and slammed the door hard, making the rearview mirror rattle and shake.

Knowing that Buffy might never talk to him again, Spike wished he could turn back time. “I hurt the girl,” He muttered aloud.

Sighing again, he pulled out a cigarette from his coat pocket along with his Zippo. Lighting his cigarette, he put the Zippo back into his pocket, and started to stroll around.

---Stranded at the drive-in
Branded a fool
What will they say tomorrow at school?---

Spike sang his heart out, moving to stand up on the stage in front of the screen. Car horns blared and lights flashed; people were getting angry at his blocking of the movie. He didn’t care, his feelings were being poured into the song.

---Buffy, can’t you see I’m in misery
We made a start, now we’re apart
There’s nothing left for me
Love has flown, all alone
I sit and wonder why-yi-yi
Oh, why, you left me, oh, Buffy---

Deciding to get out of their way, because he wasn’t in the mood for another fight, Spike headed towards the park over looking the drive-in.

---Oh, Buffy, baby, someday when high-yi school is done
Somehow, someway, our two worlds will be one
In heaven, forever and ever we will be
Oh, please say you’ll stay, oh, Buffy---

Sitting on the swing set, and lightly using his legs to push himself back and forth, which he hasn’t done for many, many years, Spike still sang strong.

---Buffy, my darling, you hurt me real bad
You know it’s true, but baby,
You gotta believe me when I say, I’m helpless without you
Love has flown, all alone
I sit, I wonder why-yi-yi
Oh, why, you left me, oh, Buffy---

Realizing the movie was over, Spike began to climb back down the hill and walk towards his car.

---Buffy
Buffy
Why-yi-yi-yi
Oh, Buffy---

Spike sighed, got into his car, and drove off home, thinking of how he could make it up to Buffy what he did. He didn’t think it was possible.

“SHIT!” Spike screamed, as he was speeding down the highway. He banged his hand against the steering wheel causing the horn to go off but it didn’t phase him. “How the hell is she going to get home?”

Deciding that since he hasn’t seen her, she must’ve caught a ride home and there was really nothing he could do. The only thing that could ease his worries was that he would be calling each and every one of the T-Birds and Pink Ladies, as well as Buffy’s house, to make sure she got home safe and sound.

---

School could not come fast enough for Spike the next day. When he called Buffy’s house, Joyce told him that she came inside and ran straight to her room, claiming she was tired. Although Joyce asked Spike why her daughter seemed upset, he didn’t let that phase him, for he was just glad she was home safely.

Anyway, he was glad school came fast, because he would get to see Buffy, and maybe speak to her about what happened. Though actions speak louder than words, Spike didn’t think she’d be too happy with more ‘actions’ last now.

---

Buffy of course, didn’t show up for lunch. Spike didn’t know why he had been thinking that she would. When the bell rang to end lunch, Spike made his way to his last period of the day, auto mechanics.

---

“Let’s head on out, come on guys,” Spike ordered the group. It was now 20 minutes after the end of the school day, and the T-Birds were preparing Angel’s car for tonight’s battle at Thunder Road.

“Movie it out, push, push,” Xander ordered, as the guy’s pushed Angel’s car out of the garage and onto the street.

“Going to deliver a baby now Xan?” Gunn questioned with a raised eyebrow.

“Ha,” Xander rolled his eyes.

“Oh! Well, the crate shaped up. And, it's as hot as the parts on it,” Mrs. Murdock congratulated her boys. “A’s all around!”

“Thanks! And, at least we didn’t steal it all, some of it was donated,” Xander commented.

“This baby’s going to kick Parker’s ass at Thunder Road,” Angel stated.

“Hell yea!” Xander agreed, the two high-fiving each other.

“You can still change your mind,” Oz said, slightly worried about the whole drag race.

“The flag goes down in 3 hours,” Mrs. Murdock announced with a glance at her watch.

“And Grease Lightnin’ kicks ass!” Gunn cheered, throwing his arm in the air as a symbol of victory.

“Mrs. Murdock, are you coming?” Oz asked the middle-aged woman.

“I don’t expect my boys to let me down, and I won’t let them down,” She promised with a genuine smile.

“Good, I have everyone I need now,” Angel said to the group.

“I don’t,” Spike mumbled, slipping away from the anxious group, to go find a girl.

A/N: I know this chapter was short, but I want to get Spike’s apology to Buffy to happen before Angel and Spike make their pact. Don’t worry, I know you’re going to have questions on why they aren’t going to be close at Thunder Road and all, but it will get there! Have faith and let me know you’re staying with me. Read and review!
