Grease: Announcements, Anger, and Riley

by ForeversEnough

Everything in the first chapter. I don’t own Buffy or any characters, and some lines are taken from the movie Grease.

Author’s Note: Okay, this story is beginning to wind down, and I think I’m going to start picking up my other stories soon. I hope you all will read and review them as well as continue to read and review this one!

Grease

Chapter 18

“Students, this is my school and I like order. I thought that I had made it clear, that at the dance off you all were supposed to be well behaved. We have pictures of you three students, whom are so-called “mooners”. Just because they are not of your faces does not mean you won’t be identified. They are on their way to Washington, D.C., where the FBI experts will identify you. If you come to me and come clean, you may just escape a federal offense. Oh, and congratulations to Spike and his partner Drusilla, for winning the contest. That is all, have a good day, and I expect three of you to be in my office by the end of it.” Principal Snyder made his announcement Monday morning.

In their respective classrooms, Oz, Xander, and Gunn were gulping at his speech, each having the thought, “Can they really identify us?” running through their head.

---

“God! Can you believe Snyder?” Xander asked in a huff, sitting down at the T-Birds/Pink Ladies table in the cafeteria at lunchtime. He was the last of the gang to join the table, minus Buffy who was no where in sight.

“What do you mean honey?” Anya asked her boyfriend, rubbing his thigh affectionatel.y

“That announcement this morning! He sent the pictures to D.C.! Do you think the FBI will find out who we are?” Xander worriedly questioned.

“Of course not. Don’t worry so much.” Angel calmly blew it off.

“Yeah. I don’t think we should turn ourselves in.” Oz commented.

“It was fun, and I think Snyder is just up with the idle threats.” Gunn stated. “Sure I was a little worried, but there’s better things to do than worry about something like this.”

“He’s just pissed off.” Cordy said. “I don’t know why you guys are making this a big deal. Now seriously, stop talking about it, stop looking worried, and just let it go, or someone’s going to hear you and see your faces, and instantly know it was you. Knowing your luck, it will be Snyder.”

A usually talkative Spike was being very quiet, and not commenting at all throughout the conversation at the table. This went unnoticed by most, but not Willow. “Spike, what’s wrong?” She asked, with a caring expression etching her features.

“Yeah, I don’t think you’ve shut your trap this long since you learned to talk.” Angel joked.

Spike slammed his fist down on the table, and pushed his food to the side. “Shut your gob.” He demanded of Angel.

“It was just a joke, no reason to get testy.” Angel scoffed. “What crawled up your ass and died?”

“Nothing mate. I just fucked up with Buffy.” Spike admitted finally.

“I guess that would describe her lack of being here.” Tara explained, figuring out why Buffy told her she wouldn’t be at lunch.

“Well, maybe if you wanted to keep the girl, you shouldn’t have been dancing and oogling your ex.” Xander told him.

“Maybe Peaches shouldn’t ‘ave brought her!” Spike yelled, fuming. He stood up so abruptly, causing his chair to fly back and fall to the floor. All eyes in the cafeteria were on him.

Picking it up, and pushing it in, and leaned over the table. “I mucked this up bad, but I’m going to find a way to fix it.” He said, giving them a nod, he left the table, to go out for a smoke, but not before shooting a look that could kill towards Angel.

“I don’t get what his problem is. Dru should’ve been free territory,” Angel began after Spike left, “And he should’ve been with Buffy and Buffy only. I would’ve been if I had her.”

---

Spike walked out of the main doors of the building and sat on the steps. Lighting a cigarette and taking a puff, he sighed, looking around. Noticing Buffy sitting with Harmony and some other cheerleaders under a tree eating lunch, Spike pondered going over there to talk to her. Ignoring his thoughts, and deciding that the rest of his classes weren’t important enough today, he headed towards the parking lot. Getting into his DeSoto, he sped off for a drive around the town to clear his head. ‘I’ll fix this later. Somehow, I’ll make it up to her.’

Little did Spike know, Buffy saw him speed away in his DeSoto. She shook her head, her heart aching a little more. Knowing her saw her and ignored her, made it hurt more. ‘Does he even know what he did? Could he even say he’s sorry?’ She thought. Figuring he didn’t care, she excused herself from lunch with her fellow cheerleaders, and went off on a mission. ‘If Spike doesn’t care about me, I guess he won’t care if I give Riley another chance!’ Determined to make Spike jealous, and to be loved, Buffy headed towards the cafeteria, and the football team’s lunch table.

TBC!!

A/N: I know it’s short, but I felt like I needed this to get off the story line, instead of just jumping into the Drive-In with Buffy forgiving Spike. Thanks to Spikezbabygurl for giving me the idea of not letting Buffy forgive Spike immediately. Don’t worry though, they will be back together, and Buffy/Riley won’t happen for too long!

Read and Review!!!!!
