This Year's Girl: That Kind Of Love

Angel: "I couldn't tell you. I wasn't sure if I could do it if I woke up with you one more morning."
Buffy: "I heard your heart beat."
Buffy: "I'll never forget."
Buffy: "A minute? No. No, it's not enough time!"


Buffy the Vampire Slayer carried her luggage as she was boarding on the Greyhound bus leaving L.A. for Sunnydale after her visit with her father and even Angel.

She entered the bus, picking the last seat all the way at the end. She sat down, trying to make herself comfortable as confusion filled her heart. She somehow felt that when she visited Angel,

that something more happened between her and him than just the stupid distance speech, something incredible. Buffy shook her head, knowing that it didnt matter now what she thought. Angel had his own life and she had hers. He wasnt a part of her life anymore and she wasn't in his.

Even thinking about this had hurt Buffy's heart. She knew that whatever she said, she would always love Angel. She lay down a bit on the seat, tiredness sweeping all over her body

as she slowly closed her eyes, wanting nothing more than to sleep. She slept.
Buffy dreamt. She dreamt about words she never even said or even heard before, but somehow it felt familiar to her.

"Just like I've always wanted to. Like a normal girl, falling asleep in the arms of her normal boyfriend. It's perfect."
"Throw down the hatches. here comes hurricane buffy."
"I'm free."
"I'm alive."
Slowly, Buffy got up, confused by the thoughts she heard across her mind. she took a deep breath as a sudden wave of dizziness came crashing on her. Buffy quickly stood up as she ran towards the bathroom in the back, shutting the door. She threw up as more thoughts crossed her mind, this time hearing Angel's voice.

"Oh my God... food... I love chocolate."
Angel: "And I am soooo hungry."
Angel: "I love chocolate! Ugh, but not as it turns out yogurt. Urgh!"
Female Oracle: "You alone will carry the memory of this day. Can you carry that burden?"
Male Oracle: "From this day, you will live and die as any mortal man."
Angel as a mortal man? The Oracles? The people from the Powers That Be? What the hell is going on here? Buffy thought in confusion.

She stood as she cleaned herself, walking back towards her seat. She felt more dizziness overwhelming her as she went back to sleep. This time sleeping throughout the trip to Sunnydale.

"Mom, are you home?" yelled Buffy as she entered her house on 1630 Revello Drive. She went to the kitchen, seeing a note on the fridge.

"Dear Buffy . I had to go out of town for a few days to get some more pictures for the Gallery. There's money on the counter for food. Be back in a few days. Love, Mom" "So it's just me then." Buffy ran up the stairs, wanting so long to see her room.

She opened the door, seeing sunlight glowing perfectly in her room. Buffy smiled, remembering the times Angel used to sneak in her room. She missed those times and missed Angel even more. Buffy stood by her bed when more dizziness striked her. Buffy sat on her bed, wanting nothing more than to rest again even after she slept already.

She covered herself under her covers and she closed her eyes and dozed off again. It was night time when Buffy slept still, the cool and soft wind flapping the curtains, a breeze hitting Buffy's face. Her hand felt warm as a figure appeared. It was Whistler. He whispered softly. " He'll always will be yours, Slayer. Soon, you will carry a precious gift that will connect and bound you and your love for him for the rest of your life." Whistler slipped something on Buffy's finger.

It was the claddaugh ring, the same one Angel had given her. Whistler slowly walked away as he disappeared into the night. Buffy smiled, knowing that her life will suddenly become brighter than ever. She kept on sleeping as the cool wind blew her blond hair. She slept in peace.

"When you're around whether or not I see you I feel you."
Angel: "Because more than ever I know how much I love you."
