Part Twelve

Day 12 - Friday

Since Jeremy was an official member of Harmony's group. He barely ever said a word to Buffy and her group. Though sometimes he did gawk at what Buffy was wearing, and today was no exception. He thought she looked gorgeous in her short, white dress with spaghetti straps and a leather jacket. Of course, he could never tell her so, with his history teacher looming in the distance. It had been kind of disturbing watching them make out the previous night at The Bronze. Still, he mooned over Buffy from where he sat...directly next to Harmony.

"Rude, much?" Cordelia Chase said in the direction of her boyfriend, Xander, who was taking food from the trays of all three girls - Willow, Cordy, and Buffy.

"I'm a growing boy. I need food, and plenty of it to nourish and plentiful me. Oh! Twinkies!" Xander exclaimed, reaching for Willow's sack lunch. Willow did nothing to stop it, she was too busy moping over Oz, who was once again absent from the group. Exclusive senior business.

Giles, who would usually never be caught dead in the school cafeteria, came into view. "Uh, Buffy. May I have a word with you?".

Buffy nodded, wanting to say "have a sentence," but having already used that pun, didn't want to seem repetitive. She figured it would spare them all the misery if she just kept her mouth closed for once.

Buffy followed Giles into the hall, away from onlookers. The only kids around were loitering by their lockers. Probably sneaking in a dosage of pot or some other drug. How gross.

"So, what's on the menu of horrors for today?" Buffy asked cheerfully.

Giles sighed and rubbed at his temple. "Nothing, actually. I was sent by Angel to call on you. It seems he has a task that he wants you to help him with.".

Buffy grinned. "Yay! I like his tasks, you know, he should really teach here full time.".

Giles rolled his eyes. That would probably not be a good idea, since Buffy was never one to over study. But then again, her history grade was slowly rising, due to the fact that Angel helped her with it every night, and she seemed to spend less time loitering in the library annoying him.

"Let's not jump to rash decisions. I suspect Angel is becoming impatient, so you'd better hurry.".

Buffy was already gone. When it came to her boyfriend, that was the one thing she was always on time for. A little early, actually.

History Classroom

Angel heard the pounding of feet down the hallway and the click as the door opened, and then the bang as it slammed to a close again. He couldn't help but smile to himself when he thought of whom had made all the noise.

He glanced up and confirmed his suspicions. Yup, it was Buffy, and she looked breathtaking in that dress and the jacket he'd given her. It really did look better on her.

"So, Watcher-Man tells me you want me to help with something," Buffy said, throwing her book bag on the floor with another loud bang and settling herself on top of his desk.

"Yeah, I need you to run some errands for me. I guess once a month each teacher has to take a turn running passes around during their free, but since I can't exactly get around much, and Giles is busy in his library, I thought maybe you could do it.

Buffy smiled. "Well, it depends.".

"Depends on what?" Angel queried, smiling back.

"What do I get as a reward?".

Angel grinned. "You won't get detention.".

She pouted her lips, the look that always made him cave in. "But, Aaaaaaaaannnnnnnnggggggeeeeeeelllllllll," she whined. "That's not fair.".

"Yeah, well, life isn't fair.".

"Puuuuuuhhleeeeasssssseeeee?" she begged.

Angel had to look away. That face was too adorable to let down. "I really have to get some work done. I'm behind on grading my papers.".

"It'll only take 5 minutes, 7 tops!" she bargained. Angel sighed. How could he resist?

"Fine, but after you run all these passes to the rooms assigned.".

Buffy smiled and took the passes from him. "Cya in 15 minutes.".

Angel nodded. "Yeah, 15." He sat back down and tried to grade his papers, but he couldn't get his mind off of that form fitting white dress!

12 minutes later

"I'm baaaaaaack!" Buffy yelled, closing the door behind her and locking it. The shade was already drawn. "And early, too.".

Angel looked up. "All right, I have 8 minutes until the bell rings.".

"That's perfect," Buffy said, walking towards him. She sat down on his lap and started kissing him, which as difficult because the chair had wheels and they almost fell off.

7 minutes later

Miss Senior, the secretary, had to finish handing out late slips to teachers. Only one more left, then she could finally take a break. She needed a smoke badly. That troll faced principal had her running everywhere, everyday, all day long. Great, this one went to the basement classroom.

She couldn't tell which room was which. The door to her left opened up and a teenage girl appeared. Her hair was slightly tossed and she had a grin on her face.

"Excuse me, I'm looking for Mr. Giles?" she asked.

The girl grinned even wider. "He's in there.".

She moved past Miss Senior and slowly walked towards the stairs. Miss Senior shook her head. There were some weird students at this school!
