Maudlin Poetry: Familly Ties

by LeatherLovin

The chilled wood felt powerful, comfortable, and familiar in her hand. Buffy was doing the routine patrol in the - one of many - Sunnydale Graveyards. Her blonde hair glowed pale in the soft moon light. This time of year - summer - was usually scorching. But tonight ws chilly and one small gust of wind would make Buffy shrink into her leather jacket and pull it tighter around her. She had needed to get away from... well anything and everything. After packing her bags and making it out the front door, Buffy had checked into a motel at the heart of Sunnydale. It wasn't the nicest place, but she could afford it untill she made further plans.

Buffy stopped on a dime. She felt a tickle in the bottom of her stomach and a tug on her soul. She spun around around. Her reaction was priceless. Wide eyed, lips forming a round O of surprise, "Angel?"

"Hi." Angel replied trying to supress a smile, the corner of her lips were twiching. His eyes gave him away though; they were twinkling with amusment.

Buffy standing feet spread, hands on her hips, asks, "What the hell is so funny?"

"You're suprised to see me." Angel stated.

"You really think so?" Buffy asked sarcasticly.

"Why?" Angel asked .

"Hello, you left me remeber?" Buffy remainded Angel. "I expected you to be long gone and to never see you, again."

"Well," Angel said , Acting like he was fixing to just walk away, "If you'd rather me..."

"NO!" Buffy yelled alittle to strongly. "I mean...why are you here?"

"Not completely sure." Angel replied. He stepped closer to Buffy, and leaned over her, "Why don't tell me?"

"I don't know what you're talking about." Buffy replied shakingly.

"Oh, I think you do." Angel got so close to Buffy. There wasn't any room left between them. Buffy's heart started pounding in her ears as Angel's hand made its way, from her shoulder down to her elbow. From her hip and finally to rest on her abdomen. She gasped sharply as Angel masaged her swollen abdomen. "I see that you do know." Angel's voice was raspy, but no louder than the soft wind.

"Angel." Buffy said desperatly, then swayed. Her knees buckled and she fell, but Angle was there. He picked her up like a baby and carried her off.
