Maudlin Poetry: Not Good Enough

by LeatherLovin

"You're going to see her!" Cordy yelled in the form of a question.

"I have too, Cordy ," Angel said a little annoyed. "Doyle had a vision, there's a reason."

Cordy flipped her long, dark hair over shoulder. "Reason?" she asked innocently.

Angel closed his suitcase with a audiable click and turned toward Cordy, "Don't do that. I cant't teell , because don't know."

"Then why are you going? If Buffy needs you she'll come to you."

"You know as much as I do that Buffy's pride won't allow her too. left . Not the other way around."

"And for a good reason."

Angel igroned her, walked past her and started downstairs.

"What? I know don't want to see you souless again and I really doubt Buffy does either...so, why don't you save yourself - and everyone else for that matter - the trouble, and stay here?"

"Because the powers want me . And besides it's not like anything bad is going to happen around here, so you guys don't really need me."

Cordy socked him in the arm at the bottom of the stairs. "Ouch! What was that for?"

"Don't say that, you'll genix us. As soon as you walk out that door we'll all be eaten alive." Cordy paused. "AND I STILL DON'T SEE WHY YOU HAVE TO GO!"

"BECAUSE DOYLE SAID THAT BUFFY'S-!" Angel smiled and a caught himself making a mistake. He softly said, "you're good Cordy... just not good enough." He chucked her under the chin and walked away.

Cordelia's shoulder sagged and she sighed. ((Not good enough?)) she perked up again. ((Doyle!))
