Ted's Return: Part 1

*Authors Note: Because I lack a home computer, I am forced to bear the indignity of using the computers at school during lunch time. If it appears that I cut the story off rather abruptly, it's probably because I had a class to go to. I will, however, submit the rest of the story whenever I have the chance to get to a computer. Sorry for the inconvinience.

By the way, this story takes place BEFORE Angel went bad.

Part One

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Buffy sat up and opened her eyes. It was just past sunset. She'd only been asleep for about an hour, but she felt better. Her headache was gone.

She yawned and stretched and nearly jumped out of her skin when she caught a glipmse of someone at her window in her peripheral vision.

She turned toward the window and felt foolish for her momentary fear. It was just Angel.

Buffy was suddenly embarrassed. She was only wearing a T-shirt, and it barely hung below her thighs.

She doubted that Angel was bothered by her present attire, but she didn't want to give him the wrong idea by prancing aroung half-naked in his presence.

She grabbed her robe and put it on, and then she went to the closed window, unlocked it and opened it for Angel.

"I can't believe you slept later than I did." Angel said with a smile.

"I had a headache." Buffy said, returning his smile.

"Feeling better?" Angel asked, looking worried.

"Yeah. Now that you're here." Buffy flirted.

"I'll take that as a compliment." He said. Then he turned serious. "Are you up to coming out with me tonight?" he asked.

"Of course I am. Even if there weren't any more bad guys to fight, I'd still go with you. Until you got tired of me anyway." Buffy said.

"How would I ever get tired of you?" Angel asked, appearing puzzled.

"I may seem full of suprises now, but I'm going to run out of them eventually." She said.

"Oh, good. Then it'll be my turn, right?" Angel joked.

Buffy laughed. "Yeah. Look, it's only going to take me about 15 minutes to get ready to go, but you might as well come in and make yourself at home."

Angel smiled and climbed inside. Buffy smiled at him from her doorway. "I'll be right back. If my mom comes in here, just tell her that you're my study partner or something."

Angel nodded. "Don't drown yourself in the bathtub." he teased her.

Buffy laughed and closed the door to the bathroom. She took less than ten minutes in the shower and was fully clothed when she heard her mother go into her bedroom.

Buffy held her breath. Her mom came back out and went downstairs. Buffy breathed a sigh of relief.

Angel was nowhere in sight when Buffy entered her bedroom.

"Angel?" Buffy called.

She giggled when his head popped out from under her bed.

"She gone?" He asked.

Buffy nodded. "C'mon. Let's go."

Angel started to wriggle out from his hiding place, then he stopped, looking a bit embarrassed.

"I'm stuck." He said. If he'd been human, he might've blushed.

Buffy grinned and lifted the corner of the bed enough that he could get out. "You could've lifted it yourself you know." she told him.

He grinned sheepishly." Yeah, but you're cute when you're exerting yourself."

Buffy smiled. "I think you're just getting lazy in your old age."

Angel raised an eyebrow. "I'll give you the 'old' part, but I don't think I'm getting lazy. Just spoiled." He said with a faint smile.
