Buffy the Vampire/Slayer: Part 1
by Tracy Vetter
I don't own Buffy and Co. Please don't sue me. I'm not making any money off of this anyway, so if you DID sue me, you wouldn't get much.
*Author's Note* This is supposed to take place a few months after Angel loses his soul and becomes Angelus again.
Buffy hit the ground hard, and knew almost immediately that she wouldn't be getting back up again. Angelus stood over her, glaring at her with a hate in his eyes that was almost as strong as Angel's love had been. Almost, but not quite.
Buffy closed her eyes, conjuring memories of her and Angel's time together.
She could see his face, not as the demon used it, but as Angel had. Not a sneer or a real glare, but a faint smile or a worried frown.
Buffy shoved memories of the demon, Angelus, away, insead embracing the memories of soft kisses and gentle whispers; memories of she and Angel fighting side by side.
Buffy's fear of Angelus dissolved. She was at peace, ready to die. The next Slayer would be called, and life would go on without her.
Buffy felt Angelus kneel beside her, moving her hair away from her neck, his touch almost gentle.
Buffy felt his weight shift as he leaned in for the kill, his lips brushing her cheek lightly.
Then, she felt the hard brush of fangs on her throat, a moment of pressure, burning pain, and warmth sliding acroos her throat before his mouth clamped against it again.
Buffy's head swam, she was dizzy, disoriented but it wasn't unpleasant. She felt safe. She could see Angel's smile still.
Suddenly, she was back in the real world. The pavement was cold and hard below her, her whole body ached, and she didn't have enough blood in her battered body to even hope to survive.
She gasped as her heart fought to pump what blood there was left through her veins.
Her vision blurred as Angelus moved over her, sitting on her hips and leaning toward her again, his shirt open at the neck.
What is he doing? Buffy wondered.
There was a moment of clarity as Buffy felt a warm fluid enter her mouth. Panic siezed her then.
She tried to fight him, she turned her head away and pushed at him with both of her hands, but she was dying, her strength was waning, and he was holding her down now anyway.
His blood filled her mouth, choking her until she had to swallow. A few minutes later, she began to pass out, and the last thing she felt was Angelus cradling her against his chest as she fell into a darkness that had never known light, and never would.
