Stuck Between Two Guys: Part 1
by Ann
Setting: Angel’s apartment
Angel walked around his apartment completely still. If you didn’t see him you probably wouldn’t know he was there. But that is what he always did. He always seemed to sneak around in the darkness, never seen, and he liked it that way. But sometimes, you have to come out of the darkness. This would be one of those times.
“Angel, you know would it kill you to let a little light in here? I mean, it’s really creepy to walk around a place and not no where you are.” Cordelia said while she walked down the stairs from the office above.
Angel just looked at her. “Yes, Cordelia, I think it would kill me. Hey, but just for you, I bought some lamps.”
Cordelia just wrinkled her face, “Thanks, nice to know you care.”
Angel planned to just ignore that comment and brush it off as P.M.S. Sometimes Cordelia could really get on a person’s nerves but not half as much at Wesley. Just as Angel thought that, Wesley walked in.
“Ahh, I thought I would fine you two down here. Aren’t we supposed to be working? Cordelia, have you had another vision perhaps?” Wesley looked at her expectantly.
Cordelia sat down in a chair next to the kitchen table. She looked up at Wesley like he was crazy. She tried to look at Angel for help, but he was no good. “Wesley, no I didn’t have a vision. I happen to think that is good, I mean god, they give me the worst headache.”
Angel looked at her and then turned to Wesley, “: You know she is right, I mean if there isn’t a vision then there can’t be any serious danger”. All so suddenly Cordelia leaned back in her chair in pain. It was in fact a vision. Angel looked at her in a panic state. “Cordelia, are you okay? What is it telling you?”
When Cordelia had composed herself enough she looked at Angel. You could see the pain in her eyes. Angel looked at her “Cordelia, what is it?”
Cordelia didn’t know how to blanket it so she just went ahead and said it. “The vision was of Buffy”.
Angel looked dumbstruck. He couldn’t believe it. How could it be about Buffy? What was wrong? Was she in danger? Was she gonna die again? All these questions overloaded him and he couldn’t take it anymore. “What about Buffy? Is she in danger?”
Cordelia just looked at him. She didn’t know what to say to him. How was she gonna break it to him. How do you tell your friend that in her vision she saw Buffy with another man? Angel would be heartbroken. But what would be worse: knowing it before they got there or him finding it out for himself? The choice was made for her. When she didn’t answer his question Angel had already grabbed his keys and his jacket.
Cordelia was confused. “Angel, what are you doing? Where are you going?”
Angel looked at the apartment while telling her all the details. “Wesley, I need you to stay here and hold down the fort while we are gone. If anybody calls here and needs help, call me on my cell phone. Cordelia, me and you are going to Sunnydale.”
Cordelia was thinking that she wasn’t gonna like this trip. Back to Sunnydale. This was not good. “Angel, why do I have to go? Why can’t I stay here and Wesley go with you?”
“Because, you are the one with the vision and you know Sunnydale better than Wesley” Angel looked at her expectantly as if to say hurry up.
Cordelia looked at him with defeat. This was not going to be fun. But who is gonna argue with Angel? She would just have to go along with it. “Fine let’s go ahead and leave before it gets too dark”
They walk out the door. Neither realizing what lay ahead of them. Not knowing that one of their friends will join them again.
