The Twenty Years Ago Series: Prologue - Twenty Years Ago

This is my third attempt at a Buffy story and unlike "Celine Dion meets Buffy" which was a deliberatly silly story this one is very somber. Please critique this i really enjoyed your comments about the previous one. I hope you are as critical with this as you were with the last one.
Note: All characters are not mine but belong to a very good writer Mr Whedon.
Prologue
Ten years ago tonight . What a night that was Giles thought.
He visited the cemetary twice a year since that fateful night. He remembered his lessons of not getting to emotionally involved with the slayer. But he could not help it. Buffy was more then a slayer to him and pupil but like a daughter. And he realized that he was like a father to her since her father was always gone.
Ten years ago.
They were so happy. Buffy, Willow, Xander and himself the four musketeers. The best of friends and comrades in arms. God how he loved them and how they were the family he never had.
The night started so easily. Five vampires were in town. Buffy had slayed three of them. It was like stepping on ants it was so easy for her.
Then it went so wrong. Xander was leading a vampire into a warehouse. This trick was done almost a hundred times. But what they did not know was the two remaining were using the warehouse as bait. Buffy was following the vampire right into the warehouse.
Suddenly there was an explosion Buffy and Xander were in the warehouse. The vampires had lined the entire warehouse with explosives and the vampire deliberately sacrificed himself to kill the slayer.
Giles knew what had happened and could not believe he was so stupid. He used the same trick to many times. He failed. His slayer was dead and a friend. His daughter and son were killed. Both dead at the young age of 26.
Willow and Giles escaped that night knowing the town was unguarded. They ended up in New Hampshire. If it was not for Willow he knew he would have died of guilt. He tried to comfort Willow but his heart was shattered and for the first few months useless to her.
Willow was his comfort. He remembered so much of the first few months after the night of death. Then one night about 6 months after the tragedy he saw her in bed holding his picture.
He went over to her and asked how long she had it. She admitted that when she first met him and belonged to the team she always kept the picture in her locker and after high school she always kept it near her.
She reached up and hugged him and started to sob. He just held her and then she said that she loved him. He never realized it until that moment that because of their bond and mutual respect that he loved her to.
Ten years ago. So much had happened. He laid the flowers on Buffy and Xander's grave. Buffy and Xander's parents agreed they should be buried together.
He and Willow got married on the one year anniversary of their friends deaths. Their marriage was in hellmouth and that night they visited Buffy and Xander gravesite.
During the first year a new slayer appeared Angel. Angel took over the slaying. Angel felt that it was his responsibility and did not want anymore Buffys to die by the hands of his species.
Ten years with two young people who were like his own children then ten years without them. Giles stood up and looked over at Willow who was playing with Alexis Buffy Giles their 6 year old daughter.
