Monday Morning: Monday Morning

Disclaimer: Hi, this is laertes@webtv.net aka Dan T writing a story while at work. Sloooow day today. This story takes place the Monday following the season finale. I hope you all respond back with comments. Your comments are really helping and they are very appreciated. Note this story contains spoilers concerning the season finale so stop reading if you have not seen the finale yet.

"Giles! Come to my office we need to speak", said Principal Snyder speaking to Giles from his office phone.
Giles trying to clean up after Friday night thought oh now this is about the library. "Yes, I am on my way."
Sitting in Snyder's office Giles knew that he would be questioned about the condition of his library.
"Rupert. It has come to my attention that you and the little gang that follows you. And they are Buffy, Willow and yes Xander. Were with you Friday night at the dance and all came in together. Ah yes Cordelia and Miss Calander were also with you." said Snyder a wee bit ticked off.
"Yes they were we thought it would be nice going to the dance. You know teenagers?" said Giles knowing where this was leading to.
"Your little gang wasn't at the library before the dance were you?" asked Snyder.
"Well you see" nervously said Giles.
"Well? What?" responded Snyder.
"The were helping me out. Some hooligans came in and" said Giles trailing off unsure how to word this.
"and destroyed my library" finished Snyder expecting that is what Giles would say.
"Yes. But we did fight them off." Giles replied hoping to end this quickly.
"You fought them off. And lets see fighting them off caused a huge hole in the floor, broken windows and the doors are broken. If i didn't know better i would say that must of been a hell of a fight." sarcastically responded Snyder.
"You can see it was a hell of a fight. But we did win." said Giles a bit unsure what Snyder was up to.
"That was a victory? I see? Did you bother to call the police? A victory?! Ummm" responded Syder who could not believe anyone would call that a victory.
"We were too busy fighting the hooligans to call the police anyways we did scare them off."
"So, let me get this straight the library has been destroyed by these what did you call them hooligans. The fighting added to it the destruction but you never bother calling the police." incredulously said Snyder.
"I am sure they are long gone. I seriously doubt we will ever have to worry about them again." said Giles hopefully. If Snyder only knew he thought.
"Do you have any clue how much this is costing the school?" asked Snyder.
"A lot i gather" said Giles. Truly clueless about the cost.
"I just have two last questions. The car who drove the car in through the front door?" asked Snyder.
"Well that was Cordelia's car. She, Miss Calander and Willow were trying to rescue me when the saw the hooligans coming in."
"They couldn't have ran in" incredously asked Snyder who could not believe what he was hearing wishing he had stayed being a first grade teacher.
"Well this is Cordelia we are talking about plus these are teenagers they can never slow down." responded Giles regretting he ever said that it was Cordelia's car.
"You are right this is Cordelia we are talking about. Now how about the skeleton in the middle of the floor?" asked Snyder.
"The skeleton. The hooligans left it behind." nervously said Giles.
"Left it behind? Huh! Let me understand these hooligans went in to destroy the library. You were alone? Cordelia, Willow and Miss Calander came to rescue you by driving through the front door destroying those doors and the hallway floors. Oh yes in this melee they left a skeleton? Where was Buffy and Xander."
"They came after." responded Giles trying to be as truthful as possible.
"Ah yes they must have seen the front doors destroyed and came in. Hell the more help you get the more thats destroyed. Yup! So in one week i have 4 dead students and a library first wrecked by an earthguake then destroyed by hooligans and your little gang. Plus the four dead students were found by two of your little gang - Willow and Cordelia."
"They were just innocent bystanders in all this." Giles said wanting to protect his friends.
"Oh, yes i know. Of course but those hooligans could have been the killers and you and your gang let them go!" Snyder said clearly furious at the naivete of his librarian.
"I assure you there will not be any more. Those hooligans are long gone." said Giles slowly realizing how stupid he was not to contact the police right away.
Giles continued: "I take full responsibility for Friday night and will tender my resignation."
"Oh no you are not getting away with it that easily. I have plans for you and your gang this summer. You will clean the library and replace all the doors and windows that have been broken. That also goes for Miss Calander. We will pay for the doors and windows but you and your brood will install them. Also you can put in a new floor while you are at it."
"Yes." said Giles realizing that this was going to be a long summer.
"Now get out of my office!!" concluded Snyder.
