Another Life: Dealing

Angel pushed Buffy's hands away from him.

Angel: Buffy, this isn't going to give you release, or peace. You know I wont be here tomorrow. I cant be here again. I want you more than anyone has ever wanted anybody, but we cant have this. We need to be strong about this, or I have to leave. You know we cant. It's as simple as that. It's not possible.

Buffy: No. Its not that simple. I love you! That's what counts here, not what some stupid oracles say. They cant just control our lives like this. I cant function without you anymore, Dawn keeps wanting to know if I'm ok, and I just want to scream no! Why wont they let me have you, if I'm their prize fighter, what stops them from giving me the one thing that would make me fight at my best?

Angel: Maybe because that one thing would distract you from everything else too. Because you would want to protect me above all else? Buffy, this is the only way it will work.

Buffy: No, let them figure it out, let them deal with it, because I want this, and I'm not gonna kill you again. It's their turn to mess with destiny.

They were still on the bed, and she pulled him down on top of her. There was no resistance from Angel, only brief reluctance which faded almost instantly. He moved his mouth towards hers, kissing her lips softly before prying her mouth open with his tongue. She responded passionately, arching towards him as she kissed him back. Her hands slid up, and his shirt was off before he had even noticed her moving.

Buffy: Let them deal....
