Chances: Relatively Infamous
by Fool_For_Love
He had slain the dragon. Followed closely by about a hundred of the different beasts surrounding him. But it wasn’t enough. Not nearly enough. Spike fought beside him. He couldn’t see him but he knew he was still out there, as was Illyria. Unlike Gunn. Gunn, with his fatal, mortal wounds had died some time ago. Yet, he went down fighting.
Dawn would be coming soon. People would be getting up and heading off to work. What would happen then? The creatures would have to retreat. Or they could just decide to take out all of L.A.
Angel was tired of fighting. He was bruised and sore, as were the others he figured. None of them could last much longer.
And right as he slid his sword into the heart of an incoming creature, there began an unearthly series of howls from all of the demons enclosing them. Angel backed up into the fence closing them into the alley. He looked over and saw Illyria and Spike on either side of him.
“What is happening to the loathsome creatures?” Illyria inquired of them.
“I don’t know,” Spike replied shaking his head. “It looks as if they’re…”
“Fading away,” Angel finished.
As the demons disappeared, a figure emerged from a path that had suddenly formed.
When it came close enough, Angel could make out that it was a tall woman. Her dark hair was spiraled and pulled back. She wore a dress that looked like an oversized sweater with a shiny black belt around her thin waist. Her silver-framed glasses gave her a professional atmosphere.
“And who the hell are you?” Spike shouted as she drew near.
The rain had abruptly stopped. And unlike all the others, the girl was not soaking wet. In fact, she was completely dry.
"My name is Alexandra, and I'll be saving you today," she said with a smirk.
