The Darkness Trilogy - With You: Chapter Four

Buffy ran. She ran through the workhouses that stank of disease and blood. She ran past guards, past workers and past previous workers who were left to decay where they fell. The demon’s guards were chasing her and had been for at least two days, Buffy had escaped the room barley with her life. Everything was on the line but Buffy had to leave the dimension; she had to save the world.
Suddenly Buffy tripped and fell down a stairs that she had been racing up. She had been running up them for hours and now her hard work was wasted. The Slayer would not sleep tonight.

Tara opened the door to find Willow standing outside with tears rolling down her cheeks. Willow walked into Tara’s arms not having to say anything at all. Tara knew that nothing more could come of their relationship except friendship, sometimes though, she didn’t.

Buffy tried to run but the demon had control of her body. The Slayer was completely paralyzed.
“A Vampire Slayer,” the demon boomed, “This really is my night.”
“It’s really not.” Buffy said trying to take to control of her arm and thrust it up into the demon’s face.
The demon laughed making the floor vibrate, “I’m afraid that you’re not in a position to threaten,” the demon held out its arms and knifes thrusted out from them.
Blue electric shocks surged through the demon and it fell forwards onto the ground revealing Riley Finn behind it.
Buffy quickly had control of her body again, “Run!” She screamed as the demon began to recover, “We have to run!”
Buffy and Riley sprinted out of the graveyard and continued to run for a few more blocks, making sure they weren’t being followed.
“What was that?” Riley gasped in a state of shock, “I hit that thing with 6,000 volts, no demon could survive that.”
But Buffy wasn’t listening she had spotted the demon’s sacrifice sitting on a bench alone. Buffy walked up to the girl and saw that she was smiling to herself in a strange way.
“Hey,” Buffy said, “I’m sure my boyfriend can give you a ride home if you want. I think you need to get some sleep.”
The girl smiled more widely and her face changed to that of the demon who had attacked Buffy. Suddenly another two jumped out of the bushes and surrounded Buffy and Riley in a death circle.
“Oh god”
