I didn't keep a good enough eye on Dru in Prague. She hatched some cockeyed plan to clean out an entire day care center full of kids. Obviously, Dru had never heard of Jenny Craig. The parents found her there and gathered a mob to kill her. After a whole night of searching the city, I finally found her lying helpless, thoroughly beaten, on a side street. Luckily, I got there in time. It was almost daybreak, and she could've…but I did get there.

I vowed then that I would never leave her again. No one knows how to take care of my pet like me. She's been much more caring towards me now, since her accident, and so I think she realizes how much we belong together as well. I decided to take her to Sunnydale. A long trip, but it's worth it. They've got a strong hellmouth there, and a worthy slayer that I can play with while Dru is healing. I'm watching her sleep now, my kitten, curled up by my side with Miss Edith. Look at the way she lays there, pale and lifeless…almost like a corpse.

God damn it…I really am love's bitch.
