The Trinity: Drusilla's Story: Part Five - London 1861
by Ephesiana
I devoted myself entirely to God after that point. Trying to wash away the impurity that I thought had caused my family's deaths. I went through the training to become a nun. I felt I had no one else but God. I was wrong. I've always had my Angel. My mind has always been a bit jumbled since the night that mummy died. It's like a puzzle with pieces that don't go together. I kept jamming the ends against each other, but it hurts. So I stopped trying a long time ago. The priest and nuns didn't mind, though. They let me do things in my own quiet way. On the night I was to take my Holy Orders, I stood in my little corner room, preparing.
I heard a tap on the door, and called out, "Come in, Father," without turning.
"How's my little girl?" a familiar voice asked.
"Angel? You can't be here. I'm to take the Holy Orders tonight, Father says so."
"You, a nun? That's a laugh. And does your Father know about your dealings with the devil?"
"He says that I can change. I can be pure if I really try. I'm not to listen to doubters," I began to hum, my hands over my ears.
Angel grabbed me roughly and brought my hands to behind my back, holding them there. He pressed his body against mine as I tried to struggle away. Like a little rabbit stuck in a trap.
"You can never kill the evil inside of you, Dru. It's there, burning in your veins," he said fiercely. Then his voice became casual again. "Or at least, it will be, once I'm finished with you." He tilted his head and whispered into my ear, "By the way, Dru? I was the one who killed your mummy," and moved his lips to my throat.
