Where Did The Time Go: Family Time

It was one of those cold bitter nights.Where all you wanted to do was curl up on the couch with your favorite blanket,a bag of popcorn and just set around and watch the old tv.And that was what the Harris family was doing well half of it at least.
"Dad for the last time no way."
"All come on Buffy,"Xander asked his oldest daughter"why can't we watch my show?"
"Look dad I don't care how popular the show was when you were a kid.I'am not going to set here and watch a BayWatch marathon with you."Buffy told him.
"Whats wrong with BayWatch?"Xander asked her.
"First it came out over fifteen years ago so it's a show for old fogies,"Buffy smiled at the outraged look on her fathers face .
"Look here young lady are you calling your father an old fogey?"Xander asked puffing out his chest.
"And second,"Buffy said while laughing"I think the show was degrading toward women."
"Well than we'll just have to let your mother be the deciding vote after she gets your sister asleep."Xander said while putting on his best my feelings are hurt expression.
"Now dad you know that mom can't get Willow to go to sleep until she reads that Seasame Street book to her a hundred times."said Buffy.
"I don't care!"said Xander"I'am not going to set here and watch some Mtv show about that favorite boyband of yours."
"Oh come on dad why not?"Buffy asked her father "I mean there all so cute."
"Ok, first your mother will be the deciding vote,"Xander told his daughter "And second you will not think any boy is cute until your at least thirty you got that."
"Yes dad."Buffy said while laughing.
"Good I'am glad we got that settled."said Xander
"You know dad mom might not vote for your channel or mine at all"Buffy told him.
"I don't follow hon."
"Well she might want to put it on that certain channel you both like to watch late at night,"Buffy told her father with a smile"You know the one you both watch when you think me and Willow are sound asleep."
Red faced from embarrasment Xander could only stammer"Uhm what uhm I don't think I know what uhm channel your talking about dear."
"Oh"said Buffy laughing"I think its called the Playbo..........."
"What was that young lady!"
Both Xander and Buffy spun around in surprise to see Faith walk into the living room with a very tired walk but with that Moms not happy look in her eyes.
"PBS!! Mom that was what I was going to say."
"Thats what I thought you said."Faith said in a stern voice but winked at Xander.
Xander smiled loving this time with his family.His family life had been the pits and he knew Faiths had been too.He also knew that secretly Faith was also embarrassed about some of the unlady like actions she had done when she first arrived in Sunnydale.So she was very strict on her daughters about their manners and on the subject of acting like a lady.But the most important thing to them was that they both worked very hard to bring their children up in a loving and normal family life.Well that is if you can call having your mother a Slayer and your father her Watcher a normal family life.
"I don't know why your smiling so much husband of mine." Faith said snapping Xander back from his daydream.
"What are you talking about dear?"Xander asked confused
"Did you happen to notice what channel your beloved BayWatch marathon came on?"she asked him.
Picking up the TV Guide Xander said"Of course let's see, here it is it comes on channel 168 the uhhhh no!"
"Thats right dear,the Spike channel."Faith managed to blurt out before mother and daughter grab each other in a fit of laughter.
Xander upset slammed the TV Guide down on the coffee table and said"I thought I cancelled that damn channel."
"You did dear."Faith said laughing.
"Does this mean I get to watch my Mtv show?"Buffy asked happily.
Just as Faith was about to tell her oldest daughter yes all the lights in the house suddenly blinked out casting the house into total darkness.Faith was the first to her feet grabbing one of the many stakes she had hidding thru out the entire house.Her slayer senses in high gear ready to protect her family from anything evil that would try to harm it.
"Xander go get Willow and bring her in here with us."Faith told him.
"Right"Xander was up and down the dark hallway in seconds heading for their youngest daughters room.
"Mom whats going on?"Buffy asked her.
Faith could hear the panic in her daughters voice,"Take it easy sweatheart,"Faith told her"Your father and I wont let anything happen to you."
"Thats right."said Xander walking back into the living room holding the still sleeping Willow in his arms."Here Buffy I need you to hold your sister and keep an eye on her while your mother and I check this out."said Xander
"Sure dad"said Buffy taken her little sister from her father and wrapping the sleeping childs blanket around her better.
"What do you think Xander?"Faith asked as she walked up to him
"I don't think it's an attack."
"How do you know for sure?"
"Well while I was in Willows room I looked out the window and noticed that all the lights on the block were out too.Also the weather alarm in our bedroom went off saying a large snowstorm has hit town and knocked out power to half of it."said Xander.
"A simple power outage huh?
"Thats seems to be all it is dear."
When his wife got this huge smile on her face Xander asked"Whats so funny?"
"Well it just seems like yesterday that we were all in Sunnydale dusting a few vamps and dancing the night away at the Bronze."Faith told him.
"So whats so funny about that?"Xander asked still confused.
"Well look at us now.We're married with two daughters,we have a mortgage on this house and we have a weather radio to warn us of bad weather.We'v turned into Giles!"said Faith shaking her head.
"I guess your right."Xander said laughing.But Xander was proud if he was becoming like Giles.He could'nt think of any other male role model in his life he would've rather grown up to be like.
"Well since every thing is all right and I'am going to miss my show how about telling me some more of those old Sunnydale stories."Buffy asked them.
"Sure hon which one do you want us to tell you."asked Faith
"Well I want to hear the one dad allways starts but never finishes."said Buffy
"Uh which one is that?"asked Xander.
"You know dad the one where you saved mom from that demon by hitting it with your car and than both of you drove off to her place..
"That young lady is a story you'll hear only when your much older."said Faith in that stern mom voice again.
"Ok! OK! how about telling me some stories of when you and dad started working together."
Faith nodded her head and said"All right set back and I'll tell you the true stories of Faith The Vampire Slayer and her sidekick Xander."
Xander raised his hand "Uh sidekick?"
"Xander."
"Yes dear?"
"Shut up."
"Yes dear."
Faith set down on the couch next to her daughters and said"Now this story goes all the way back and I mean all the way back to the beginning."
