In this story after the battle with the First and the destruction of Sunnydale in the last episode.Xander had decided to stay behind with Faith to look after her and find the new Slayers.While Buffy,Willow and the rest of the gang had headed back to England to rebuild the Council.And now its fifteen years later

The huge crater was still quite a sight to behold even after all these years.Almost two decades of rain had eroded the sides of the crater making it wider than it had been before.The government had first declared the area a disaster area but now it had become a popular tourist attraction drawing in thousands every year.Much like Yellowstone Park or the Grand Canyon in Arizona did, except this one had become known as the Sunnydale Crater.As the woman looked out over the crater reminiscing of times past she sensed someone walk up behind her and turned to see her husband smiling at her.
"Lord,I can't believe its still here."Xander said "I mean after all these years its still here and nothing about it has changed much."
Faith smiled at her husbands comment"Where did you think it would go love?"
As he talked to her Faith once again marveled at how different Xander was now compared to that naive young man she had first met in Sunnydale all those many years ago.How he carried himself with confidence these days and how years of fighting evil had keep him in great shape for a man his age.But she knew that deep down Xander was still the same childish quick witted prankster she had first met years ago here in Sunnydale.Even though a lot of his hair was now gray and he had more wrinkles and scars than that young man she met had.She knew deep down he would allways be that loving and loyal friend. Allways with a joke and first to join in the fight and that was one of the reasons she has loved him all these years.
"What I meant was I was wondering why no one had ever bought this land and built some sort of mall or amusement park over it."Xander said"You know welcome to the Sunnydale Hellmouth Funpark win a free quippy doll or a trip to any demon dimension of your choice."
Faith laughed and once again marveled at how he could still make her laugh.Considering all they've been thu these many years as a Slayer and Watcher demon and vamp ass kicking team.
"Any demon dimension of my choice huh?"
Xander walk up to her and put his arms around her and whispered in her ear"Yes maam anyone you wish."
As she pressed her body closely to his Faith said"I don't think I would want to be anywhere else but here with you and besides this is a national park no one can buy it or build anything on it anyway."
Xander smiled and said"Ah of course most not trample on Mother Nature."
With Xander arms around her waist Faith turned to look at the crater that had once been their home.Many thoughts passed thru her mind since the fifteen years they were here last.The fun times slaying with B when she first came to Sunnydale,the time she turned bad and ran with the evil Mayor,how Angel had finally brought her back to the side of good when she was in LA, and the big battle against the First that had started her and Xanders life together.
Faith turned to look Xander in the eyes,while technically his eye since he still wore the eyepatch and asked"Xander did you think our lives would turn out this way after you decided to stay with me that night at the hospital?"
"Honestly no"Xander said"I just knew you needed someone to be with you after Woods died on the bus before we could get him to the hospital."
"But,what about you?"
"What about me?
Sighing Faith asked"You were in pain too Xander what with Anya being killed and all.Also with B and the gang heading off to England to rebuild the Watchers Council why didn't you go and be with your friends?"
For a time Xander didn't say anything and Faith didn't think he was going to tell her at first.
"It was becouse I had another friend who needed my help more.Someone who I was starting to strongly care about"Xander said"Thats why I decided to stay here with you."
Faith felt the love coming from Xander and it warmed her soul to its core.She hoped that he knew how much she was in love with him and how she had cherished him all these years they were together.Just to make sure he did know she reached up and gave him a very passionate kiss with all the love she felt for him.But it lasted a little longer than she had planned and was noticed.
"Oh Gees Mom and Dad your embarassing yourself and more importantly me!" a voice said behind them.
Both Xander and Faith smiled and turned to see their oldest daughter Buffy Harris acting as mortified as only a embarassed child could.
"Sorry about that princess,but you know I can't keep my hands off your mother."said Xander.
"Ohh thats gross dad!"Buffy said rolling her eyes.
"You just mind your manners young lady."Faith told her"and why aren't you with Willow your suppose to be watching your little sister."
Buffy put her hand on her hips and said"She's with Grampa Giles,she talked him into getting her some cotton candy at the food court outside the park."
"Giles with his tweed jacket holding a four year old eating cotton candy this I have to see."Faith said laughing.
"Well the whole time Grampa Giles was buying it he said leave it to the Americans to make a candy out of nothing but flavoring and pure sugar."Buffy said smiling
Laughing Xander took his wife in one hand and his daughter in another and marveled at no matter how much things changed around him the important things like Faith, Giles and the other members of his family have'nt.And I would'nt have it any other way Xander thought,as they head for the food court.
