"There's a party Saturday night at Gordons house. Wanna go?," she asked.
"I don't know if I can. I mean, I've got work and-," Jak was interrupted mid-sentence.
"C'mon," Sonya begged, "I promise it will be fun."
"I really can't, I- fine, I'll go," Jak gave in to Sonya's puppy-dog eyes.
"Great," Sonya squeeled and hugged Jak.
As Sonya was skipping away she yelled back to Jak, "Pick me up at seven." Jak sighed and pulled out of the parking lot.
Giles was sitting in the library reading one of his demon books when a woman entered the library. She wasn't old, but she wasn't young, either. Giles figured she was in her fourties. Her skin was very dark and she was wearing a bright green robe.
"May I help you?," Giles asked.
"No," replied the woman, "But I can help YOU."
"In what manner?," Giles implored.
"You're the Watcher, correct?," the woman asked.
"What do you know about it?," asked, shocked.
"I'm a psychic. I've had a vision. Now, are you the Watcher, or ain't ya?," She replied.
"I suppose I am. What is this vision that you referred to?," Giles asked.
"Well," the woman began, "It's more of a feeling than a
vision. Last night I felt two demons cross over into Sunnydale. I just thought I should warn ya."
"Can you give me any clue as to where to begin looking for them?," Giles asked.
"When they crossed over I felt that the portal was in the abandoned warehouse on 3rd street," the woman said, "But they're probably long gone by now. Good luck." After sharing her vision the woman left.
As Buffy left 3rd period she was greeted by Giles.
"Hey, Giles," she said, "Are there any demonic happenings, or am I just going to be bored this weekend."
"Actually, I have just been informed that two demons have come to Sunnydale. I want you and Angel to sniff around the old
warehouse on 3rd street tonight," Giles said.
"Allright," Buffy said, "I'll be there."
Later that day, during lunch, Xander looked at Buffy and said, "Willow, Oz, and I are going to Gordon's party tomorrow night. Are you coming?"
"I'll try to be there, but we've got a couple of demons running around, so I don't know," Buffy replied.
"Okay, we'll keep an eye out for ya," Willow said.
That night as Buffy and Angel were scrounging through the old
warehouse Buffy sighed, "There is nothing here. What are we even looking for?"
"A clue," Angel said.
"That's not very helpful," Buffy huffed.
"You're right," Angel agreed, "There's nothing here."
"Let's get back to the library," Buffy suggested.
"Okay," Angel said.
"Did you find anything?," Giles asked as Buffy and Angel
entered the library.
"Not a thing," Buffy said, "The place was completely bare."
"Any other ideas?," Angel asked.
"Not right at this moment," Giles answered, "But I'm open to
suggestion."
As Angel, Buffy, and Giles thought, Giles noticed a greenish
goo on Buffy's sneaker.
"What is that?," he inquired.
"What?," Buffy asked.
"The goo on your shoe," he said, pointing.
"I don't know," Buffy replied, "I guess I stepped in something."
"Hold still," Giles said as he wiped some goo onto a Q-tip.
"What are you doing?," Buffy asked.
Giles smiled, "I think we may have just found our clue."
A little while later, after Giles had looked at the goo under a microscope he turned to Buffy and Angel and said, "This looks like salivic slime from a type of demon known as an Aquanon. If you are bitten by an Aquanon you will become one, so be careful. Most Aquanons were never human. Most of them are pure demons. They have super-human strength, but It doesn't take anymore to
kill one of them than it would to kill a human. They dwell near water, so you should check the lake. Get going."
Buffy grabbed a couple of swords and headed for the lake.
Jak and Sonya were laying on the hood of his car and Jak said, "I think I love you."
Sonya was silent for a while, then said, "I think I love you, too."
Jak began to say something when an aquanon jumped onto the hood of the car.
"Get in the car!," Jak yelled.
When Sonya rolled off of the car she caught the attention of the aquanon. To divert his attention Jak kicked him in the head. The Aquanon peerede down at Jak and sank his beak into Jak's leg. The Aquanon let go of Jak's leg and picked him up by the arm. The Aquanon was just about to eat Jak's head when Sonya threw the car into reverse with a jolt. Jak and the Aquanon were thrown off of the car. Jak got up and tried to get to the car, but the Aquanon grabbed him and slammed him to the ground. The Aquanon hovered over Jak and was about to eat his head when Buffy ran up and sliced him in half.
She was about to see if Jak was okay when an Aquanon jumped on her back and knocked her to the ground. He was about to eat her head when Angel impaled him with his sword. With the sword he lifted the Aquanon off of Buffy and kicked him off of the sword. When Buffy stood up Jak and Sonya were gone.
The next night Xander was sitting at a table alone at
Spencer's party while Willow and Oz were dancing.
Xander was oblivious to the party as he asked himself why he came to parties, "Why do I come to these things? I always end up sitting alone." Just as Xander thought it couldn't get any worse Cordeilia approached him.
"Are you here to insult me, because if you are don't bother. The situation pretty much does it for you," Xander said.
"No," Cordeilia said, "I want to thank you, for the dress (The previous week Xander learned that Cordeilia had gone poor and was working at a fashion boutique to try to buy a dress for the prom, and rather than bask in the glorious insults that could be made, he bought the dress when she didn't earn a sufficient amount of money)."
"You're welcome," Xander said, "Does this mean we're back
together?"
"This means I won't insult you any more," Cordeilia replied.
As Cordeilia left the table Buffy walked in to the room.
"Buffy," Xander yelled.
Buffy sat at the table and asked, "How are you doing?"
"Same as usual," Xander answered.
"Hey," Willow greeted Buffy, "Did you get all of the baddies?"
"Yeah," Buffy said, "We got 'em."
Suddenly Buffy heard screaming. She stood up and ran towards the screams. When she reached her destination she saw Jak on the ground, writhing in pain. When she rolled him over he had
changed into an Aquanon. He jumped up and picked Buffy up by her throat. Xander grabbed the punch bowl and slammed it into the Aquanon's head. The Aquanon dropped Buffy and turned to Xander. He opened his beak and was about to bite Xander when Buffy grabbed him and wrestled him to the ground. With his super-human strength he rose to his feet and slammed Buffy into a wall. She fell off of him. He turned to bite her, but she rolled out of the way. As he slammed his head into the wall she stood up, ran to the kitchen, and grabbed a knife. When he ran into the room
she kicked him in the face and rose the knife to stab him, but
Willow tackled her.
"What are you doing?," Buffy screamed.
"Giles said not to kill him," Willow explained.
The Aquanon started to leave the room, but Giles ran in and
slammed a bottle full of a potion on his head.
"Nukki Barrapit Tu," Giles chanted.
The Aquanon fell to the ground and changed back into Jak.
Sonya ran into the room and hugged Jak.
The next day at school Willow approached Buffy, "Sorry I had
to tackle you."
"It's okay," Buffy said, "It had to be done."
"No one even realizes what happened, do they?." Willow asked.
Buffy replied, "They never do."
