Buffy and Willow’s dorm room.

Willow tried to sleep but she just couldn’t. She was restless and she needed the pain to go away. All she could think about was Oz and how he had left.

‘God, how could he have done this to me! Stop it Willow.’ She thought angrily.

She needed to get out. Fast.

She got up quietly making sure that Buffy was asleep. Looking around for some clothes, she picked up a yellow fuzzy sweater and was about to put it on when she stopped halfway. Oz had loved this sweater. She threw it on the floor.

‘Tonight I am not thinking about him.’

Instead she turned to Buffy’s closet. She knew that she should ask Buffy, but tonight was different. She wasn’t the same girl. She was hurt, angry, and emotionally raw, and would explain it to Buffy later.

As the fresh night air hit her, Willow had to fight the urge to run back into the dorm and hide under the covers. She was wearing a very low cut black halter with a no back. On top of that she had a skirt that was so short she couldn’t lift her hands past her shoulders. To top off the outfit she has a pair of sexy heels that made her at least 5 inches taller.

‘OMG, OMG, what am I doing? I am crazy.’ Willow thought.

Then she looked up at the moon and realized that it was full.

‘Oz would have been tied…. STOP!! You’re wasting the night away.’

With that thought Willow set out to find Zenobia, a club that she had heard Spike mention. If Spike liked it then it was perfect for tonight.

“I wonder what Spike’s doing anyway?’

Cut to Giles apartment

‘Bloody hell! Why did the Watcher have to get strong chains?’ Spike thought.

He knew that if he ever got out of here that the first thing he would do was get a drink. He wouldn’t go to the Bronze, it would be too easy for the Slayer to get in there. Nope he would head straight for Zenobia, where only mystic creatures could get in, and the Slayer had no idea about it. Just the thought of drinking and partying upset Spike.

“Bloody Hell!!” Spike said as he brought the chains down hard, and to his surprise they broke.

‘Well that was easy. Should have tried that in the first place.’ Spike thought.

Praying that Giles was still asleep Spike sneaked into the living room. Seeing that nothing had changed, Spike thought that it was safe. But not wanting to take any chances he sprinted to the door grabbing his coat on the way and set off for Zenobia.

Cut to Willow standing in front of Zenobia

‘Well this isn’t that bad’ she thought.

That thought vanished as soon as she stepped inside. She was instantly hit with the smell of smoke and alcohol. When she was finally able to see through the smoke she realized that she surrounded by vampires and demons, not humans.

‘Of course! Spike mentioned this bar. I mean what did I expect? Well at least I went. I mean points for effort. I guess I’ll just go home and pray that Buffy doesn’t realize that I wore her clothes.’

But as Willow turned around she bumped into someone.

“Sorry, I, OMG Spike. How did you get out?” Willow said in shock.

“Red? What the hell are you doing here?” Spike retorted just as surprised.

“I well, I was, you know I don’t think that it’s any of your business.” Willow said.

“Right. Well just answer me this. How did you get in?” Spike said.

“Um I walked in?” Willow said confused.
“What? You have to be a mystic creature to get in here. Say you aren’t the new Slayer are you? Spike said with some amusement.

“No, I don’t know how…. Oh.” Willow just realized that answer.

“What?” Spike said confused.

“Umm…. Nothing I have to go.” But at the Spike’s look she decided she better explain. “I’m sorta a witch.”

“Right” Spike snorted.

This did not go over well with Willow.

“If I’m not a witch then how do you explain the fact that I got in?” Willow said.

It was then that Spike saw the fire in the redhead’s eyes that for some reason he always missed. It was amazing. He could feel the power radiating off her body, which told him that she was indeed a witch. It was then that he earned a new respect for her.

“I don’t know, luv”

Willow was surprised by the change in Spike’s tone. It was almost like he was afraid of her or at least didn’t feel superior to her. This was not something that Willow was used to and for once she was at a loss for words.

“So…. wanna dance?” Spike asked uncertainly.

Now Willow was really confused. Spike, vampire, killer, Spike was asking her to dance. She was about to say no, but then she remembered why she came out here.

“Sure”

But of course as fate would have it the fast upbeat song changed to a slow one. Willow was about to pass, when Spike pulled her close and started to sway to the music. The weirdest part was that Willow found herself enjoying, and felt safe. She wanted to laugh at the irony of it all. Feeling safe in Spike’s arm. That’s a good one. But it was true.

When the song ended Spike found himself not wanting to let Willow go. Her small warm body felt so right in his arms. But he knew that he would have to. To his surprise she was very reluctant to let go.

“Do you wanna go somewhere else? Quieter I mean.” Willow asked, all while blushing.

Spike raised his eyebrow as to ask if she was asking what he thought she was. Willow got the message, and would have laughed if she weren’t so embarrassed.

“No, I didn’t mean, I just thought that we could talk, not the other, I mean, no” Willow stuttered.

Spike laughed, which to Willow was not a good sign.

“Love to.” Spike said.

Cut to the graveyard.

“So…. this is nice.” Willow said, not knowing what else to say.

“Why did you go to that club Red?” Spike asked.

“I don’t know. Well no, I do. It was just after Oz left, well I can’t think of anything else. I guess I just wanted to escape.” Willow said not believing that she was telling Spike this.

“Oh. I understand how you feel. When Dru left me, I was a wreck. I tried to escape. But you wanna know something? It didn’t help, because I’d always end up coming back to reality. The only way to really escape is to get rid of the problem completely and move on. But why Zenobia? Spike said softly.

Willow was taken aback at what Spike had said. It was so sensitive. Completely different from the Spike she was used to. She realized that there was more to Spike then she knew and found that she was eager to learn more. She was really starting to like Spike.

“Well I heard you mention it….” Willow started.

But the rest Spike didn’t hear. He was still stuck on the fact that Willow had picked up on something that he had casually mentioned. He couldn’t remember anyone who had done that. He was really starting to like this girl.

“Spike, earth to Spike.”

“Right, sorry Red, what did you say?”

“I said that my name’s Willow not Red.”

Spike was about to answer, but when he looked over at her, his instincts took over. She looked so beautiful with her hair and clothes creating a striking contrast with her pale skin. He didn’t even think. He just leaned in and kissed her.

“Spike…” Willow said, but it came out as a muffled moan.

She would have pulled away, but for some reason she couldn’t. It felt so good to kiss someone, and the fact that it was Spike wasn’t so bad either.

Spike gently pulled away taking in a deep breath that he didn’t need. That kiss was something totally different. It was soft and sweet. It also left him wanting more. So he went back in, and got completely lost in Willow.

The next thing Willow knew she was waking up in Spike’s crypt.

‘OMG, where am I?’ Willow thought, totally freaked out.

Then she felt a strong arm wrap around her. A deep voice answered her question.

“Morning pet.” Spike said.

“OMG Spike what are you…. wait a second.”

Then it all came back. That night, what they have done. The more that Willow thought about it, the more that she found herself relaxing. Spike had been so sweet and caring.

‘Whoa, I really do have feelings for him’ Willow thought surprised.

Spike was scared by Willow’s silence. He wasn’t sure how she would react. He wasn’t sure how he would react. It was all very confusing. That was until Willow sorted it out. How did she manage that? She kissed him. A long, sweet, tender kiss. It was then that he knew that he had feelings for this girl. Not love, at least not yet, but feelings.

“I should go.” Willow said as she broke the kiss.

“Do you have to?” Spike pleaded.

“Yes. Buffy will have wondered where I was plus I have class. But I promise that I’ll come back later.”

“You better.” Spike growled.

Willow laughed. It felt so good to be needed again, and to need in return. She gave Spike a final kiss, got dressed and left for her dorm room, trying to come up with a really good excuse as to why she hadn’t been there. It turned out that she didn’t need one.

************************************************************
Cut to Giles apartment. The whole Scooby Gang is there except for Willow. That is, until she comes running in.

“Hi. Sorry I’m late. I got your message. What’s up?” Willow asked out of breath.

“It’s Spike. He got out last night.” Buffy said.

“I know…no!! I mean how? When? OMG this is really bad.” Willow said catching herself.

“I agree. That is why he must be found at once.” Giles said.

“Well I’ll check the local spots, see if I can find something. Xander, Anya, you guys head t Willie’s and see if he’s heard anything. Giles you should hit the books and try to see if there’s any info on where Spike used to like to hang out. Willow you should probably get to class.” Buffy said, getting into her Slayer mode.

‘Get to class? Is she for real? I mean I know where he is. He’s at his crypt. Oh no, he’s at his crypt. Buffy is gonna find him in a second. This is bad, very bad.’ Willow thought.

As everyone left, Willow decided to go to Spike’s crypt and tell him that Buffy was on her way, and was not happy. When she got there she found him still in bed, asleep.

‘He’s so cute when he sleeps’ she thought.

“Spike, Spike wake up. It’s me.” Willow said in a whisper.

“Willow” Spike said disoriented.

“Hey. Buffy’s on her way over here and she’s not too happy.” Willow said.

“Bloody hell. That’s not too good is it pet?” Spike said with a laugh.

“How can you laugh? I mean she might kill you!” Willow said.

“ I doubt that, I mean I am harmless. Besides I got you to watch my back right?” Spike said with a grin.

Willow smiled in return, and smoochies ensued.

“Spike, stop. Come on Buffy’s gonna be here any minute.” Willow said, yet she couldn’t hide her smile.

“Alright pet. Alright. I’m going.” Spike said.

“Well hurry. I got to get to class. I’ll se you later.”

With that (and of course a goodbye kiss) Willow left, to go to college.

Cut to classroom.

Willow waited nervously as Buffy walked in. She wasn’t sure if Buffy had caught Spike or not. Her question was soon answered.

“I couldn’t find Spike anywhere! It’s like he just disappeared.” Buffy said with frustration.

Willow almost sighed with relief, but managed not to.

“Don’t worry, you’ll find him” Willow said with an encouraging smile.

“I hope so. Cause when I do he is so dead.” Buffy said.

‘Uh oh’ Willow thought.

************************************************************
Cut to Giles’ apartment. The whole Scooby Gang is there.

“Do we really have to kill him?” Willow asked trying not to be too obvious.

“Of course we do.” Buffy snapped. The fact that she couldn’t find Spike anywhere was upsetting her.

“But he can’t hurt anyone.” Willow said almost pleading.

“It doesn’t matter. He’s a vampire.” Xander said adding his two cents.

“What about Angel?” Willow said desperately.

“What about Angel?” Buffy said trying to control her temper.

Willow knew that she should have stopped. The whole thing with Angel was way too painful for everyone. But she couldn’t. Her mouth seemed to have a mind of it’s own.

“He was a vampire.” Willow said carefully.

“He had a soul!” Buffy said for what seemed the millionth time in her eyes. What was so hard to get about Angel having a soul, that she had to keep on repeating herself.

“So? Have you picked up a newspaper lately? I mean look at all the things that people do with a soul. They murder, kill, and maim people. Having a soul isn’t a get out of jail free card you know.” Willow said, voicing her thoughts that she had kept hidden for a very long time.

“What are you saying.” Giles asked slowly.

“Look all I’m saying is that there is nothing set in stone. Every person that you put your trust in is your own judgement call. Buffy trusted Angel and I trust Spike.” Willow said, tired.

Then laughing erupted. Willow looked around and saw that Xander and Buffy were cracking up. Giles however had a strange look on his face. Willow wanted to know what he was thinking but never got the chance.

“Look Willow. I know that you think that we can trust Spike. But I know him. He’s probably just being nice around you, so he can gain your trust, but that’s not who he really is. I know that you think that I’m lying, but I am the Slayer. I can just sense these things. I think that you should go back to the dorm and rest.” Buffy said knowingly.

Willow stood there dumbfounded. Buffy was talking to her as if she was a little kid. Willow would have laughed if she hadn’t been so shocked by it. She didn’t know what to do or say. So she turned and walked out. If Buffy wasn’t going to listen to her then she was going to talk to someone who would. She had to go find to Spike.

************************************************************
Cut to the Bronze.

Willow was searching frantically until she spotted Spike dancing….. with another girl! Anger flared up inside Willow as she rushed over.

“Can I cut in?” Willow asked her voice dripping with venom.

Willow was hurt to see that Spike was surprised, as if he had gotten his hand stuck in the cookie jar. She let out a sigh of relief however when he’s whole face lit up at the site of her.

“Of course you can luv.” Spike said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.

As the other girl left, Willow found herself staring into an icy blue stare until she wrapped her arms around him and buried her face in his shoulder. She had it all worked out. She would find him and tell him that he would have to leave. There was no way the he could stay there. Not with Buffy here as well. But the perfect plan seemed to crumble as she fell into his arms. It felt so right to her. She thought that she could stay there forever. It turned out that she couldn’t.

“Luv, why are crying?” Spike asked gently.

He knew why. Buffy. As an evil vampire he had disliked her for what she was, a slayer. But now he disliked her on a different level. She had made Willow cry and that was not all right.

“It’s nothing.” Willow said lying through her teeth. How could she tell Spike?

“Its Buffy isn’t it?” Spike asked.

All Willow could do was nod sadly.

“Well what did she do?” Spike asked, anxious to see what was going on.

“She’s gonna kill you. She won’t stop hunting for you until your dead.” Willow said in a whisper, as the realization of these words hit her. Buffy really wouldn’t stop until Spike was dead.

“Oh, come off it she won’t….” Spike started to say.

“No! She won’t stop! She’ll kill you!” Willow screamed as the panic sunk in.

Spike was about to reassure her, but he couldn’t. The reason was that he knew that she was right. Buffy would kill him. I mean why shouldn’t she? He was a vampire after all. But it was all so unfair. He didn’t want to leave Willow, yet that seemed the only option. That or become dust in the wind. Looking at Willow he found that she was thinking among the same lines.

“So what? This is goodbye?” Spike wondered at loud.

Willow’s hear broke at that statement. She may not have loved him, I mean they had only started hanging out a couple of days ago, but she knew that she would miss him a lot.

“I guess....” Willow couldn’t finish that statement because she started to cry.

Spike looked at Willow and began to cry himself. He was really going to miss her. He didn’t love her, but he sure loved her company. If only he could stay a little longer, then maybe there could be something between them. But he couldn’t.

Since Willow and Spike both couldn’t talk, they simply kissed. They kissed for all the pain and all the unfairness. And for all the love that could have been theirs.

“You have to go.” Willow said breaking the kiss.

Spike not knowing what to say simply nodded and left. Willow wasn’t sure how long she stood there. It could have been hours. Just standing there letting all the pain wash over.

“Willow, Willow!” Buffy said, snapping Willow out of the daze that she was in.

“What, Buffy” Willow said confused.

“I thought that I told you to go back to the dorm room!” Buffy said, ignorant to the pain on Willow’s face.

Again Willow didn’t know what to say. So again she turned and got ready to walk out when she turned to no one but the wind and said

“Good bye”

And Willow knew that wherever Spike was he had heard her.
