"I'm so tired of being here
Suppressed by all my childish fears
And if you have to leave
I wish that you would just leave
Because your presence still lingers here
And it won't leave me alone..."

She didn't see him watching her as she dusted the vampire in front of her, but she felt him there. She could have been in a room crowded by thousands, and still she would have felt his presence. He was her soul mate. Her salvation, her hope, all she'd ever dreamed of. She'd loved him since she was 15. And she'd let him go because she was afraid to lose him, afraid that Angelus would take him from her, as he'd taken everyone else she loved. But it was too late, she realized. Leaving him hadn't saved him. He was dead, a vampire, Angelus had gotten to him after all.

"These wounds won't seem to heal,
This pain is just too real
There's just too much that time cannot erase..."

She didn't know what to say. Angelus had never turned anyone close to her before, he'd always just mangled their bodies and left them were she could find them. But though it wasn't the same M.O. she knew Angelus had did this. He was the only one who would dare to. "Landon." she said softly. "Trinity." he nodded pleasantly, his Irish accent still noticeable, despite his seven years in the U.S. "How?" she asked, and he smirked, his eyes gone cold. Those beautiful green eyes she'd once been able to look into, and see her whole future. They were evil eyes now. She felt a sob build low in her throat as she realized she'd have to kill him, or be killed. She'd thought that there was no one else she loved. That their was no other person Angelus could kill, just to bring her pain. She'd been wrong.

"When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears
When you screamed I'd fight away all of your fears
I've held your hand through all of these years
But you still have all of me..."

Trinity spun back on her heel and kicked out, striking Landon in the stomach. Landon groaned and swung at her, but she ducked and rolled just in time. She looked around for the stake she'd dropped. She'd come to put flowers on her parents graves, and hadn't expected to find any more than a vamp or two. Though Wes had lectured her on it a million times, she was always forgetting to bring more than just one stake with her. Landon came at her from behind, and trapped her hands behind her back. He bent his head to bite her and she head butted him.He released her and let out a feral growl, his face changing. He rushed her and she punched hum in the face then kicked at his ankles, causing him to fall to the ground. She jumped him, sat on his chest and began to pummel him, punching him in his face over and over, uncontrollable in her rage, tears streaming down her face. She pounded him until he was unconscious, his face returning to its human state. She looked down at that lifeless face, as familiar as her own, covered in black and blue bruises that she had put there and she knew she couldn't do it. Knew that she wasn't ready to kill him. She knew that this wasn't Landon, that Landon was lost to her. But still, she could not bring herself to kill him. To watch his body turn to dust. So she got up, and she ran.

"You used to captivate me
By your resonating light
Now I'm bound by the life you left behind
Your face, it haunts my once pleasant dreams
Your voice, its chased away all the sanity in me..."

Wesley found Trinity sobbing in her bed. He stared at her, bewildered. He hadn't seen Trinity cry once in the last year, not since they'd buried her year old goddaughter. He sat next to her, and tried to ease her sobs by patting her on the back gently. It did nothing to ease the sobs that racked her slight frame. As he had no idea what to do, he went to the one person who always seemed to have all the answered. "Willow." he called. Willow met Wesley in the hallway outside Trinity's room. "What is it Wes?" she asked. "It's Trinity. It seems she's had some kind of, uh, upset." Wesley said, nodding his head towards Trinity. Willow looked in and saw nothing but shaking raven curls. "Oh dear." she said softly, and after giving Wesley order to bring hot chocolate and a brownie to her, Willow entered Trinity's room.

"These wounds wont seem to heal
This pain is just too real
There's just too much that time cannot erase..."

Willow placed her fingers gently on the sides of Trinity's temple, and she entered. And saw it all. The first time Landon and Trinity met, their first date, and their first break up. Their reunion, and Landon's proposal. Then Trinity being called, and her breaking up with him, and then, finally, their meeting at the cemetery, their fight, and Trinity's inability to kill him. "Ahh." Willow said, as she extracted herself from Trinity's mind, her hair turning from white to its natural red. "There there Trinity. No need to cry. I can fix this. There's a way to bring him back. Sort of." Willow said. Trinity raised her head slowly, and looked at her with sad gray eyes. "How?" she asked. "There's a spell, like the one I used to restore Angels soul the first time. It will restore Landon's soul, but without the perfect happiness clause." Willow replied. "What do I do?" Trinity asked fiercely. "Bring him to me."

"When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears
When you screamed I'd fight away all of your fears
I've held your hand through all of these years
But you still have all of me..."

Trinity found him in the remnants of The Onyx, the club where they'd had their first date. It had shut down about four years ago, and she figured vamps had probably been using it as their lair for just as long, since no one had ever tried to do anything with it. "I've been waiting for you." Landon said, stepping out from a booth near the bar. His usually painfully beautiful face was a mess. Swollen, and peppered with black and blue bruises. "I'm sure you have." she said softly. "Come to finish what you started?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. "You could say that." Trinity replied and she pounced. The beating she had given him earlier had weakened Landon but not by much. He delivered a kick to her solar plexus that left her spinning long enough for him to get close enough to bite her. Trinity kneed him where it counted and followed it with two sharp kicks to the head. Landon groaned and grabbed at her ankles, pulling her down. He pulled himself up and jumped on her before she had a chance to move. His face changed and he lowered himself towards her neck, the odd looking pendant he wore (it was circular with an upside down triangle covered by a double X.) brushing against her. He never saw the needle. The blackness overcame him within seconds. Willow completed the spell withing an hour. Trinity sat with Landon, waiting for the sedative to where off and for him to awaken. "Can I ask you a question?" she asked Lorne, who sat with her. "Go head baby-cakes." he replied. "The spell," she began, "How come you never used it on Angel?" Trinity asked. "Because we didn't find it until it was too late. Willow was going to tell Buffy about it when she found their bodies. We all knew it was too late to save Angel then. We knew that if we returned his soul to him after he killed Buffy, he'd never forgive us for not staking him." Lorne answered, and then, sensing that Landon was awakening he left, knowing they'd need to be alone. "Why?" Landon asked, looking up at Trinity with more pain in his emerald eyes then she could bare to see. "I had to do something. I couldn't kill you, and I wasn't about to let you go without a fight." she said. "It wasn't your decision." he said coldly. "You couldn't save me before, what makes you think you can save me now?" "I love you." Trinity said, tears sliding silently down her face. "Then why didn't you kill me?" he asked, and closed his eyes, turning away from her.

"I've tried so hard to tell myself that you're gone
And though you're still with me
I've been alone all along..."
