Huh???
When Buffy saw what was going on in Giles' home, she nearly fainted. Oz was perplexed, but showed no expression, as usual.
"Hey, Buffy, what's happening?" asked Jesse.
"Wha… Why are you…How is it…Giles?" Buffy had never been so confused in her very confusing life.
"Yes?"
"We need to talk. Now!"
"Of course," he said. "Excuse me a moment, Jenny"
"Okay," answered the formerly deceased computer teacher. "Buffy, Oz, how are you?
Buffy didn't answer, she just brushed past the older woman into the kitchen. Giles apologetically followed her.
"So," replied Oz. He leaned over to Jesse and held out his hand. "Oz. And you are?"
"You mean Xander and Willow haven't told you about me? Man, I'm insulted." Jesse responded, shaking Oz's hand. "I'm the apparently not-so-famous Jesse."
Oz raised an eyebrow. "Figures."
Meanwhile, in the kitchen…
"So Giles, what's going on?"
"I haven't the foggiest."
"But you've been researching, right?" Buffy couldn't believe that Giles was being so casual about the whole situation. The dead had risen, and were in his living room. Didn't he care?
"No, not yet."
"Well, what are you waiting for?"
"Buffy, don't shout."
"I'M NOT SHOUTING!!!"
"Buffy, you know how painful it was for me to lose Jenny. Now that I have the chance to be with her again, you wish to take her away from me. How do you suppose that makes me feel?"
"Giles, she's dead. And so are Harmony and Jesse. We should at least try to find out why they are here."
"Oh, should we?" asked Xander, who had been eavesdropping by the door. "Your love got to rise from the dead, why shouldn't ours?"
Buffy couldn't believe her ears. "That's not fair. I didn't bring Angel back." She looked to Giles for support, and was shocked to relized that his eyes stared back at her with an icy coldness. She slowly slipped back into the living room. The conversations had all stopped, and everyone was staring at her. The silence was deafening.
"I don't believe you Buffy," Willow stated. "How can you try to ruin this for us?" Xander and Giles had reentered the room, and they, Willow, and Cordelia all stared at Buffy with a cold, fixed hatred. She slowly left, softly shutting the door behind her. Oz rose, and started to follow her out.
"Oz!" cried Willow. "Where are you going?"
"I think Buffy needs a friend right now," he answered as he left. The friendly conversations immediately began again at earnest, almost like they had not been interrupted at all.
