Part Three

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wednesday evening, Eden woke from a brief nap with a fierce hunger. She changed out of the sweat clothes she was wearing into a short black and silver slip dress, black nylons, and her boots. SHe took out a long black cape and hood then put it on. Last to go was the silver cross.

She stared at it and felt hot tears gather in her eyes. "My legacy." She whispered. "My past and my future." She clasped it around her neck.

Eden looked around the storage room and spotted her backpack. She went to it and took out two garters with small loops attached to it. She put them on then dug into her backpack once again to retrieve a woodenbox. Inside were ten, very slender stakes. She divided them in half and stuck them in the loops. When she was done, the weapons didn't even show. Two more larger stakes were concealed in her boots.

She wished she had a mirror. She knew she looked great. Eden grinned to herself. "First dinner, then some hunting, and then a little dancing."

An hour later, a after a meal of very rare steak and potatoes, she arrived at the Sunnydale Cemetary. She wandered around a while before plopping down on a large tombstone. She drew off her cloak since it was a warm night.

"Well,I'm here and I'm waiting. Where are the vamps?"

Behind her, she heard the cracking of twigs and soft footsteps in the grass. She jumped to her feet and pulled out a stake as she whirled around.

Angel jumped back. "Hey, watch it with that thing!" He frowned. "I thought you were going to wait at home for me."

Eden blinked. He thought she was Buffy, she realized suddenly. For a moment, she was speechless. "I-I decided to meet you halfway." She managed to stammer out.

He smiled suddenly and began walking towards her. She backed up, knowing that he intended to kiss her. His expression changed to confusion. "What's wrong?"

"Uh, I forgot to brush before I left the house. " Eden knew she sounded lame. Angel gave her a weird look.

"Buffy, what's wro--watch out!" He yelled and leaped to push her aside. Eden landed in the grass and immediately got back up. She hurried and delivered a swift roundhouse to the vamp while Angel recuperated against a head stone. There wasn't time for torture so she just staked him. She sighed regretfully as the vampire was dusted.

"Damn, and I wanted to play." She muttered and pouted. Eden turned to Angel. "Well, thanks for your help." She went and grabbed her cloak. He got up and made a grab for her but she eluded him. "Don't touch me." She hissed.

Angel regarded her cautiously. "You're not Buffy, that's for sure."

"Year, no kidding!" Said a new voice. Buffy stepped out from behind a large stone cross. "Just who the hell do you think you are, impersonating me? Another vampire slayer I can handle. Another me, forget it. Who are you?"

Eden turned to flee, her heart racing with fear but she found herself restrained as Xander and Giles stepped out of their hiding places and flanked her. Willow, Cordelia, and Jenny Calendar weren't far behind. Eden knew she could have esily fought her way free but she couldn't risk hurting them. Not these people.

Buffy grabbed her look-alike and dragged her beneath a streetlight. Eden struggled a bit but knew it was futile. "Let up, will you? I'm not going to run." She promised.

"Fine, whatever. Now who are you?" Buffy was amazed by the resemblence between the other girl and herself. Every characteristic was identical to her own except for the eyes. Whereas hers were a bright emerald, this girl's eyes were a dark, smouldering brown. It was like staring into the eyes of..."Ohmigod!" The Slayer abruptly let go of Eden.

Eden stumbled backwards onto the pavement and landed on her butt. Buffy continued to stare at her as she slowly backed away and into Angel.

Xander watched his friend's reaction. "Did you find out who your look-alike is?" He demanded. She nodded slowly, still in shock. Angel looked down questioningly at his girlfriend.

"Buffy, who is she?" He asked softly.

Eden coughed loudly, drawing everyone's attention from the Slayer to herself. "Why don't you ask me, Dad?"
