Sins of an Angel: Part 13

by Starry Night

Disclaimer: The great, wonderful, superb, characters of Buffy The Vampire Slayer belong to the WB, Mutant Enemy, and the magnificent Joss Wheadon. All other characters and situations in this story are yours for the taking. Personally, I don’t care since I’m doing the same thing. Beg, borrow, and steal . . . Just don’t get ‘um too dirty. Thanx!

This takes place after Killed by Death. I have finally admitted to Surprise and Innocence. I’m writing this story after some of the comments that were exchanged on the past two or three shows.

PS: Denotes inner thoughts.

Part Thirteen

“What was Buffy doing again?” Joyce Summer’s asked confused. This wasn’t the first time Buffy has mysteriously “collapsed” and she was called in from the gallery to the emergency room.

“Uh . . . She was cataloging things in the library for me,” Giles lied.

“For extra credit,” Willow piped up. Joyce nodded, still not totally believing there story.

Xander groaned as he tried to bend down to grab a soda from the hospital waiting room vending machine. His head was ringing from the bump he had gotten earlier. A soft hand helped him stand. Cordellia.

“Hi.” Xander said carefully.

“How’s you head?” Cordellia asked. Xander smiled at her.

“Fine. The doctor said it doesn’t need stitches,” He murmured.

“Good,” Cordellia said, leading him back to the rest of the group. Xander had a far away look on his face.

“She’ll be fine,” Cordellia said softly, giving him a slight hug. Xander nodded.

Giles awoke to a violent shaking.

“The doctor’s here!” Willow shouted trying to wake him up. She herself was still groggy since Xander had just done the same to her a few minutes ago.

The short balding doctor was standing over Joyce, telling her what was wrong with Buffy. From their vantage point, Giles and the rest of them could just barely hear what he was saying.

“We’re not sure exactly what happened to your daughter Mrs. Summers,” he said slowly. “Her symptoms resemble anemia, but she seems to be recovering very quickly. Faster than I would have expected. We started transfusions. She should be able to go home in a few days. Seems Buffy lost a third of her blood content. I’m surprised she made it so long with out collapsing before. You can see her.”

Buffy’s mom disappeared inside of the emergency room. Giles and the slayerettes went to fallow, but were stopped by one of the emergency room staff.

“She needs her rest. You can come back and see her tomorrow.”

Disgruntled, Giles and the others left the hospital.
