Finally Free: Finally Free

Authors Note-This is set ten years after graduation and is in no way connected to any of my other stories. It is also extreamly short.

I sat there, staring at the ring on my finger, ignoring the tears that slipped down my cheeks. I couldn’t belive it happened…she died…at my hands. I looked at the picture in front of me…her beautiful face shinning in the bright sunlight…now she would never see the sun again…She would never smile…never be happy…never, ever.

I killed her…bit into her and almost drained her, then tore her body apart as she screamed weakly, realizing one she cared about most was killing her. She never saw it in my eyes when we met in the graveyard for the last time…she never sensed it when she turned her back to me…she never dreamed it would happen.

I wiped my eyes, hating the bitter taste of my tears, reminding me of what I had done. I can still hear her voice in my head, telling me she cared about me…that things never changed between us. I can still hear her laughter as she hugged me after all these years, I can still hear her saying how long she’s dreamed of this moment…that we we’re still best friends…nothing could ever change that…nothing, except me and my madness.

As I picked up the stake I looked at the picture one last time. “Good-bye Willow.” I plunged the stake in my chest and with one last look and scream I no longer existed. The demon that controled me was gone…I became whom I once was…I am again, Buffy Anne Summers…and I am finally free.
