Disclaimer: You all know the drill. Lindsey is not mine (although I wish he was). The Oracles aren’t mine either. Seremela comes from my own mind. For those of you who wonder where I got the name Seremela, it happens to be my Elvish name from a website I found.

Part 1: the Beginning

Lindsey McDonald left LA in his rusty pick-up truck, with his guitar and some clothes in the back. He was fed up with Wolfram and Hart. He knew they wouldn’t come after him, since they gave him a hand that just might kill them if they tried to come after him.

Just outside LA, he came across a young woman, walking all alone on the highway. She was tall, with long red hair. She was wearing a pale white dress, but no shoes. “Excuse me, are you okay? Where are you going?” “Oh nowhere, just walking. Lindsey, right?” the girl asked. “How did you know my name?” “Oh, let’s just call it a hunch. By the way, my name is Seremela. Aren’t you going to offer me a ride?” she asked. “Of course. Hop on in,” Lindsey said. Seremela jumped into the truck, turned to him, and smiled. “So, Seremela, how did you manage to find yourself walking barefoot on a highway in the middle of nowhere?” “If I told you, you wouldn’t believe me,” Seremela replied, “So, where are we headed?” “Well, I’m thinking of heading to Morro Bay. I fell the need for some quiet solitude,” Lindsey replied. “Well, I’m sure you won’t mind if I join you” Seremela said with a smile. Lindsey smiled back; of course he wouldn’t mind spending time with a beautiful woman.

They rode the rest of the way in silence. They reached Morro Bay, and found a small seaside inn. There was only one room available, so Lindsey and Seremela had to share a room. Lindsey didn’t mind, and he had an odd feeling that Seremela didn’t mind either.

They spent a year together in Morro Bay. Lindsey made money by doing odd jobs around town. During their time in Morro Bay, Lindsey and Seremela learned everything there was to know about each other. Seremela was born in Arizona, but raised by foster parents. Her parents weren’t allowed to raise her. Lindsey asked why, but was never given a response. They lived, laughed and loved during their time together.

Then, a day came when Seremela wouldn’t talk at all. Finally, she sighed. “I must leave,” Seremela said. “Why?” “Because now is the time when you must be alone. Don’t be angry, for in time, I will return to you. I don’t know when, but I will.” And with that, Seremela left. Lindsey was devastated. He had feelings for her he had never felt before. He decided that he needed to leave Morro Bay. There were too many memories here, and he couldn’t take it. He packed up, checked out, got into his truck, and just drove. He found himself in Ashland, Oregon. He thought that this was as good a place as any, and decided that this would be his new home.
