Season-3

Summary-Buffy's been turned by Spike and Giles is dead. Now its up to Faith to train the new slayer and find a way to defeat Buffy, who's stronger than any vampire, she's ever faced before.

Xander and Willow looked at Faith like she was completely? You don't believe me? Then go ask B. I'm sure she'll tell you how it happened, you know before she rips your spine out." Faith said with a smirk. "It's not that we don't believe you, it's just that there's no way Buffy would let Spike be the one to turn her, even if she wanted to be turned. Absolutely no way." Xander replied. Faiths eyes saddened. "I'm sorry, but I don't think she really had a choice in it. Spike got her by surprise and it gets worse. Not only is B a vampire, way stronger than any I've ever faced before, but she killed Giles. Not to mention that there's a new slayer out there somewhere and we have to find and train her before B and Spike kill us all 'cause there’s no way I'm gonna be able to protect you guys and kill them too. "When Faith suddenly burst into tears Willow and Xander, along with Cordelia and Oz who had just joined them, stared at her in shock. "You're serious." Xander, who hadn't wanted to believe it was true, said before slamming his fist into the wall of Giles' new house. The one the council had bought him just a week ago, after Snyder had been caught snooping.

Willow burst into tears and sunk to the floor, next to Giles' couch. Buffy was dead. Her bestfriend, who had protected her and always been there for her 'cept for that time she ran away but there had been circumstances, she had been the only person Willow had really been able to talk to before Oz came along, and now she was dead. "Oh, God, Angel. Has anyone told Angel yet?" she asked between sobs. "On it." Faith said. She went to walk out the door but stopped short when she saw Oz go over to help Willow up and get sent across the room when Willow pushed him away. Willows eyes widened, and Faith, following a hunch, picked up a knife and threw it at Willow, "Think fast Red." she called. Willow caught the knife right before it connected with the center of her face. "What does this mean exactly?" Xander, who had been watching the scene with an incredulous _expression on his face asked. "It means I'm the Slayer." Willow answered, before running upstairs to Faiths room.

Giles had left the house to Faith in his will, after adopting the young Slayer and Faith had taken over the reigns of the Scooby Gang when Buffy and Giles had left on council business. She had no idea that she would become the Slayerettes new leader permanently. Faith had felt overwhelmed at first, she wasn't as old, and tough and she looked and acted, and she was relieved to know that the older, more experienced and usually more sensible Willow was the new Slayer, and therefore would be there to help her out. If she didn't go insane with rage and go after Buffy and Spike without any kind of training and get herself killed.

"Don't even think about it." Faith said as she watched Willow change into some her more comfortable black patrol clothes and pull her red hair into a ponytail. It was a rude awakening, seeing the usually colorful and cheerful witch sporting the depressed Goth look. She looked like something off of that soap opera, Port Charles or whatever it was called. Her and B had watched it one night, cracking up at the vampires on it. "Think about what?" Willow asked innocently. "Going after Buffy and Spike and trying to kill them to avenge Giles and Buffy, without any kind of training. They'll eat you alive. Literally. Look at me, I'm covered in bruises, and I was only fighting Buffy, by herself for like 3 minutes. I barely got away with my life." Willow just ignored her sister Slayer and started tying her shoes. "Don't worry." she finally said. "I'm pissed, not stupid, and contrary to popular belief, I don't have a fiery temper just before my hair is red. I'm just going on patrol for a while, maybe stop off at Angels and tell him what the hell is going on. It will probably be a useless endeavor though. If I know Angel he already knows, and if I know Buffy she's already figured out a way to remove his soul." Faith nodded thoughtfully. "I figured that, which was why I wouldn't let Xander, CC, and Oz go tell him. We'll go together after you do the deinvitation spell. I don't want Angel getting in until I'm convinced he's not evil." Willow shrugged. "It'd be easier if I just did the soul restoration spell on him and Buffy, maybe even Spike." Faith shook her head, and ran a hand through her dark hair. "No! We return Angels soul and whose to say he won't be as crazed as he was last time. The 100 years he spent in hell might have had something to do with the craziness but I'm thinking his guilt played a bigger role in it. And I don't even want to think about what B and Spike would be like with souls, especially since she killed Giles. No we'd be better off staking them. We owe it to Giles, as well as B and Angel. It's what they'd want us to do." Willow smiled half-heartedly. "You're right. Let’s go do that spell."

Willow finished the deinvitation spell, which wouldn't just stop Angel, but all vampires from entering the house. She stood with Faith in front of Xander, Oz, and Cordelia, nodding at the more experienced Slayers words, showing her approval. She had a feeling that her friends wouldn't go along with anything Faith said unless she agreed. "You guys don't leave this house whatsoever, unless we're with you. I don't care if you're parents are on their deathbeds as we speak. We need you in this battle, not them. We've lost enough members of this family. I'm not sure how long we'll be." Faith began before Xander could finish raising his hand, "We're going to go see if Joyce is still alive first and if she is we're going to bring her back here. But I wouldn't count on it. If I know B her mom would have been the first person she killed once she got back into town." Xander, Oz, and Cordy all nodded at her words, and confident that the Slayerettes would stay put, Faith and Willow went out into the night.

Cordelia curled up into Xanders arms as they sat on the couch, and laid her head on his chest as she wept bitter tears. "I can't believe Buffys really gone. Giles too. When she ran away it was different, because somehow I knew she wasn't dead, but now, I don't want to die Xander, and as long as Buffy's out there, and with fangs, well, we're all pretty much walking around with death warrants." Xander stroked his girlfriend’s hair and kissed the top of her head gently. "It's ok Cor, as long as we've got Faith and Will around we'll be fine." he said, as much to convince himself as her. "Xander's right Cordy. Willow and Faith are strong, they'll make sure no one else we love dies." Oz said, in a sentence remarkably long for him. Xander raised an eyebrow at this but didn't say anything. His sense of humor seemed to have left him entirely.

"We'll start you're training tomorrow. As soon as I feel that you're ready we'll set you up as bait." Faith said as they walked towards Buffy's house. Willow nodded, understanding exactly at what Faith was hinting. Buffy wouldn't expect Willow to be called as the next Slayer, and she would see weak, frail, little Willow as an easy meal. "Here we are, lights are on, it could be an ambush. Buffy would expect you to go check on her mom and be they’re waiting for you." Willow said. "I know. Which us why you're staying out here and hiding. If anything goes wrong one of us should be here to defend Sunnydale and give whoever the new Slayer is the low down." Faith grabbed Willow by the shoulders and looked deep into her eyes. "And you've got to promise me that if I die you won't go after Buffy, Spike, and Angel if he's evil again alone. Together, two Slayers can defeat them, but alone we don't stand a chance." Willow smiled and unexpectedly hugged Faith. "I promise, and be careful." Faith hugged her back tightly before walking into the house as Willow disappeared into the trees.

Faith slipped quietly through Buffy's back door and nearly got hit upside the head with a frying pan. She grabbed her assailants arm just in time. She looked up to see a shaken Joyce Summers, crying wildly, eyes widened in fear. A quick check to the pulse point in her wrist proved that Joyce Summers was very much alive and terrified. Faith hugged her and allowed the older woman to cry. "How did it happen?" asked Joyce when she finally pulled herself together. "So you know about Buffy." Faith stated. "Angels gone too. They attacked. I don't know how I survived. So are you going to tell me how my daughter was murdered or do I have to start guessing?" Joyce was getting pissed. Faith looked at her sadly. "Spike. When her and Giles went to London. He was there and he caught her off guard. She was turned, and she killed Giles. Come on, Giles' or well I guess it's my house now, is safe. Grab some stuff and let’s go." Faith helped a still frail Joyce down the back steps and signaled to Willow. She stepped out of the shadows and Joyce did a double take in surprise. "What-?" she began, but Faith interrupted. "It's not safe to talk out here. Anyone can here us. We'll fill you in when we get home."

"Thank god, you're alive." Xander said as he hugged first Joyce, then Faith and Willow. Cordelia and Oz followed suit. The remaining Scooby Gang settled around the coffee table in the living room and the Slayerettes looked expectantly at Faith and Willow. "So...do we have a plan yet?" Xander asked. "We do." Faith nodded. "Well, what is it?" Cordelia asked. "Faith trains me. Then we use me as bait for Buffy, Spike and Angelus." Willow answered. "Okay...huh?" Xander asked, confused. "Buffy won't be expecting Willow to be a Slayer, if she senses it she'll just think I'm hiding somewhere and she probably won't care. She'll see Willow as an easy kill and that's when we'll move in." Faith clarified. "Makes sense to me. We'll kill the demon bitch whose violating my daughters body, and the bastard who murdered her all in one night." Joyce said. Faith got an alarmed expression on her face. "What's this "we" business? There’s no we. Willow and I are doing it alone." Joyce, Xander, Cordelia, and Oz all gave her the same surprised look, "What?" they asked in unison.
"There's no us. Faith and I are in this alone. We're not risking losing any more members of this family." Willow clarified coldly, hardening herself against the emotional pleas of her friends. "Look, I know you guys feel that you should be there, but we don't. It's not safe, and it can only cause you more pain." Faith said firmly. "Bu-bu-but, no!" Xander stuttered. "No arguments Xand. We've already decided and as long as we have the super strength and skills you have no say in it. Now I suggest we all get some sleep, we have a busy few days ahead of us." Willow said. "One last question?" Xander raised his hand. "Shoot." Faith replied. "What if Buffy, Spike, and Angel leave town?" he asked. "No chance." Faith said confidently, "They won't leave until they've killed us all, or we kill them." Willow finished sadly.
Willow punched the dummy Faith was supporting and then spun around to kick it in the face. Faith and the dummy staggered back. "Good, but you can do better. Hit harder, don't worry about me, I'll live and the dummy can be replaced." Willow nodded, but didn't reply. She was intent in her training. She had spent so much time watching first Buffy, then Buffy and Faith training that it was going faster for her than most Slayers. They had gone through the basic fighting weapons in one day, crossbow and sword training had taken less than that, but they had still spent a full day in that area since those were Buffy's favorite weapons. Willow picked up a sword and said "Duck." Faith lowered herself just in time, as the red head spun around and lopped off the dummy's head. Faith stood up, "That's it, we're done. Tomorrow, their dust."
Xander, Cordelia, Oz and Joyce all stood up when Faith and Willow walked down the winding staircase. The Slayers were wearing matching black pants, leather boots, tank tops, and jackets. The Slayerettes were wearing expressions of deep concern, praying that this wouldn't be the last time they saw their friends alive. Oz kissed Willow passionately, and held her tightly against him. She may be the Slayer now, and stronger then he'd ever be, but to him she would always be his frail, delicate Willow, and he'd give anything in the world to save her this pain. While they were kissing Faith hugged the other three, and when Oz finally let Willow go she hugged him while Willow hugged the other three. Before letting go she Faith whispered in his ear, "I'll make sure she comes home alive, even if I don't" he smiled, "I know." Faith let go of him as Willow said, "Let's go." She nodded and they walked out the door.
Willow stood alone in the park, sitting on the merry-go-round. Faith was hiding somewhere. They hadn't wanted to risk Willow involuntarily looking towards her and alerting the three vampires to her hiding place. Willow tensed at the sound of footsteps, but forced herself to relax. "Well well well, if it isn't the little witch." Spike drawled. Willow stood up and tucked her hands in her pockets, looking warily at the three vampires before her. Spike and Angel looked the same, but Buffy, she looked older somehow, her face more defined and hardened. "I see you got my note." she said so quietly that only a vampire, and fellow Slayer could hear. 'So where's your little Slayer friend?" Angelus asked. "I don't know what you're talking about." Willow played along. "Oh come on Will, you're smarter than that, you couldn't honestly have thought we wouldn't sense her." Buffy laughed. "Actually, I was counting on it." Willow smirked as a crossbow bolt shot out of the air and pierced Spike in the heart. He crumbled into dust, and Faith vaulted out from behind Willow, doing a series of gymnastic flips. She landed next to the other Slayer and they fell into fighting stances. "Shit. Their both Slayers." Angel stated. Buffy just laughed and took a fighting stance similar to Willow and Faiths, the same stance all Slayers were taught. "Well then, lets party." she drawled and the fight began as she struck out at Willow with a combination of punches to her face.
Willow ducked and did a back flip, landing a few feet behind Faith, who was busy kicking Angel in the face. Buffy followed her and gave her a kick to the face that sent her down, but Willow jumped right back up, and pulled a stake out of her jacket. "You're gonna die bitch." Buffy looked at her, feigning shock, "Now is that any way to talk to you're bestfriend, especially considering how many times I've saved you're life." Willow spun around and jumped up, punching Buffy, then following it with a kick to her face. "You're not Buffy, just some demon violating her body." Buffy punched her and bended down low, going for a kick to the ankles. "That's what you think." she said. Willow did a back flip, just going far enough behind Buffy to grab her by the elbows, "No, that's what I know." she retorted, as she twisted the demon around then whispered in her ear, "Now, don't you want to tell you're boyfriend goodbye." Buffy watched, as if in a daze, as Faith plunged a stake into Angelus heart, as he crumbled into dust Buffy screamed out in agony, "Angel! No!." she turned around and hissed at Willow, "Bitch." But the redhead just shook her head, "Buffy wake up." she said, "What?" Buffy asked, confused.
She opened her eyes and looked up to see all her friends looking at her with concern. She gazed around the crowded airport in a daze, then gasped and grabbed Giles' hand. "We can't go to London." she said seriously. "And, pray tell, why not?" he asked. "Because if we go, we'll die." she answered. "What makes you think that?" Faith asked. "My dream. In it When Giles and I went to London Spike turned me and I killed him. The PTB's wouldn't have sent it unless there was a possibility of it happening. Also in it Willow was called, I think she might be a potential Giles' so you should look into that." Buffy answered. Willows eyes widened and all she could think was *(Me, a potential Slayer. Wow)* Giles shrugged. "Then we won't go, I'll call the council when we get home." Buffy smiled, relieved. Another possible Scooby Gang apocalypse averted. She stood up and linked arms with Faith and Willow, then waved at Cordelia, signaling her to come over. The brunette linked her arm through Willows available one. "So how do you guys feel like a girls day out?" Buffy asked. "What'd you have in mind B?" Faith asked. "I was thinking some quality mall time, and moccachinos followed by dancing at the Bronze, and maybe a cheesy horror movie fest at my house if we're not too tired." she answered. The other three girls agreed that it was a great idea, and they walked off laughing, leaving Oz, Giles, and Xander behind looking confused.
