"What do you mean she killed Kris and Jacob," Spike snarled, twisting the vampires collar a bit tighter. "Idiot." Lifting him off his feet Spike sent him sailing across the room and into the wall where he made a pleasant thud.
Smiling pleasantly, he turned to another flunky on his left. "And where is Christa," Spike inquired.
Turning pale at Spike’s smile, she replied, "I-I d-don’t kn-know Sp-Spike."
Seeming to dematerialize from the shadows, the witch Christa stepped into the dim light. "I’m over here, Spike," she replied in her scratchy. Her dark robe made a small swishing sound as she stepped farther into the dank room. Trying not to wrinkle her nose at the room’s odor, she once again surveyed the room’s dank, dismal look. "I still don’t understand why you live in this rathole...So what’s gotten you so upset?" Christa smirked, knowing full well why Spike was in a bad mood.
"Well," Spike practically bit out as he strode over to where she stood. "It seems your little spell didn’t work. And I lost four of my best vampires."
"Poor baby," she replied, toying with him. She loved to see his face go red with blinding fury. "Well I kept my part of the bargain...do I have to punish you for not keeping yours?"
Reining in his anger and fear, Spike managed to keep his face expressionless. Angering the faery would definitely get him nowhere. Except death if he was lucky. "Of course not, but how are we supposed to capture the bloody fools if they keep killing us off?"
"Spike," Druscilla called out, appearing at his side. With a petulant look on her face, she peered up at him and draped her arm around his shoulders.
"Not now love, can’t you see I’m busy," Spike answered shrugging her arm off his shoulder. Christa smiled nastily.
"But I’ve got a plan." Druscilla seemed to almost bounce up and down with contained glee.
"Well, what is it then," Spike asked, finally turning his full attention on her.
"Angel," Druscilla whispered. She giggled madly.

"And here is the fabulous Sunnydale High School," Buffy said as Derek pulled into the school’s lot. Floodlights illuminated the parking lot and the school building’s exterior, if one squinted closely, they could see the dim lights lighting up a few of the halls in the school.
Getting out of the passenger’s side of the car, she pulled opened Derek’s door with a flourish and waited for him to get out. For some reason he had insisted on driving. Still staring at the school, he asked, "This place is still open at night?"
"Not exactly. Come on," she said, and pulled him out of the car. Walking a few paces ahead of Derek, she quickly reached the side door to the library that opened to the stacks. An overhang had been built over the walkway that led to the side door and several lights of low wattage hung from it. As Derek approached Buffy, he noticed the light in front of the door no longer worked. Derek squinted in the darkness, trying to make out Buffy or the door.
"Oh great," Buffy mumbled to herself as she searched her pockets. "I don’t have a key."
She was about to beat on the door when a disembodied voice asked from a dark corner, "Looking for this?" A silver glint was seen in the shadows and a man walked out of the corner giving a body to the voice.
Derek stared at him. Although the mystery man looked like a normal human with his brown hair and brown eyes, his pale skin and fluid movements spoke otherwise. Before he could say the word, "vampire" though, Buffy had sprung into action.
"Angel," Buffy cried with a smile, then rushed over to give him a hug.
"Cordelia," Angel said less enthusiastically, trying to remove himself from her arms. "What are you doing here?"
"Uh, I hate to tell you this," Derek said staring at Angel, "But your boyfriend is a vampire."
"Boyfriend!!" Angel exclaimed, trying to contain his shudder.
"He’s a good vampire," Buffy said at the same time Angel was expressing his shock over being paired with Cordelia.
"O-kaayyy..."
"Angel, it’s me, Buffy!"
Angel and Derek stared at her.
"Would I know this," Buffy asked. She leaned over and whispered in Angel’s ear. Angel’s face turned a little red and a small grin appeared on his face.
"I seem to remember that."
"Wait a minute...if you’re not Cordelia, then where is she? Why are we really here," Derek demanded.
"Let’s go inside first."

Pulling Cordelia up from the ground, Giles commented, "Well, I think that’s enough for tonight. Let’s see if the others have made any progress at the library...
(At the library)
"...and that’s what happened," Buffy finished, leaning back on her chair. Derek sat next to her while Angel leaned on a nearby table.
"That doesn’t answer my question as to why he’s here," Xander said glaring at Derek. He still didn’t like the looks of the guy. It had started about twenty minutes ago...
Willow and Xander had been hard at work researching faeries when Angel, Buffy, and a strange guy appeared from the stacks. Well, Willow had been hard at work, Xander had given up an hour ago declaring he was on break and was currently amusing himself by throwing a tennis ball at the wall.
Xander could tell the new guy was going to be trouble from the start. If only he could convince Willow of that. As soon as the strange guy entered, his gaze had focused on Willow. That wouldn’t have been so bad if Willow hadn’t been looking at him too with a sort of dazed look in her eyes. Then she looked down at the floor with a blush on her face.
Walking over to her chair, the strange guy took Willow’s hand and said with a smile, "Bonjour ma chere. Je m’appelle Derek."
Looking a bit flustered, Willow replied, "I-I’m Willow." Raising her hand to his lips and bowing slightly, Derek replied, "Enchanté."
The moment seemed to last forever in Xander’s opinion. Clearing his throat loudly, Xander walked over to Willow’s side. "I’m Xander."
"A pleasure," Derek replied shaking Xander’s hand while Angel and Buffy looked on in amusement...
Xander’s thoughts were broken when a loud thud could be heard from behind the stacks followed by Giles’s groan of, "Oh no," as a stack of books fell out of it’s case and into a heap on the floor.
"Cordelia, what have I told you about throwing things around!"

"Everyone in their place," Spike asked into the small walkie-talkie. They needed to strike quick. Christa had conveniently forgotten to tell them that the soul spell she had cast would only last a few days and wasn’t permanent.
Hearing confirmation from everyone on his team, he ordered, "Move in for the attack and wait for my signal."

Without warning, five vampires burst through the library’s windows and landed on the floor gracefully. Grinning to each other, they advanced on the group in the center of the room forming almost a complete circle around the group. The only exit was the library doors, but before any of the Slayerettes could move the library doors burst open and three more vampires entered with Spike trailing.
"Well, well, well," Spike drawled. "Everyone’s here...this is better than I’d hoped..." Lazily, he flicked his hands towards the humans and Angel in the center of the room. "You know what to do."
Spring into action, Giles grabbed a staff from the weapons pile, it was nicely rounded and had a sharp point on one end. Turning towards the vampire blocking the back entrance he began his attack while yelling for Xander, Willow, Buffy and Derek to get out through the stacks.
Turning to Derek who was closest to him Xander beamed the tennis ball he was holding at the vampire Derek was grappling with. Xander felt a moment of satisfaction as he heard the large vampire hiss in pain as the ball smashed into the vampire’s eye.
That is, until he heard Derek growl, "I can defend myself," and pulled out a long stake which he shoved into the vampire’s heart. Xander’s smile faded as the vampire turned to dust and Derek’s stake fell to the ground.
Turning around, Xander noticed Willow trying to hold off two vampires with a chair while Buffy snuck up behind them with a stake. Behind Buffy, Angel was trying to guard Buffy’s back from the four vampires advancing on him. Cordelia was bravely attempting to help Giles but only managing to cause him more problems as she practically stumbled over her own feet trying to stake the vampire.
Looking around frantically, Xander’s last thoughts were,

Smiling, Spike dropped the chair he had hit the black-haired human with and pulled the unconscious boy up by the scruff of his neck. "Back off," he yelled to the other vampires.
"Mr. Giles," Spike called out drawing the librarian’s attention. "Call off your friends or I’ll drain this boy dry." Spike smiled giving the others a glimpse of his razor sharp fangs. Leaning over the boy’s neck he pierced the skin...
