Prologue

Buffy hummed a familiar tune that she had heard on the radio that morning, she jogged along the cemetery path that was lit by the moonlight.
The vampire activity had been low over the past few nights, normally meaning that something extra evil had popped up out of the Hellmouth. Giles had said that this was the point were the slayer was meant to be more alert but Buffy didn’t think so. It was the time to relax and have fun with her friends over the hot summer, not to mention her ex – agent boyfriend Riley Finn. Buffy sighed just at the thought of him.
Maybe I should check in with Giles about this evil free summer, Buffy thought, he doesn’t seem to be interested in it anymore though. Why should he? We’ve probably faced every demon at least once. Buffy kicked a stone, she had cancelled plans to see a movie with Willow and Tara for this.

Stupid slayer, you think you know everything, well you don’t! I don’t know why Spike didn’t have away with her the first time he had set eyes on your blonde bimbo hair. The creature watched the slayer and it squinted, it’s eyes were full of hatred towards her. And that dumb Xander Harris, as if I couldn’t kill him in 30 seconds flat.
It moved closer to see it’s target but snapped a twig with her foot in the process, the slayer had heard and it knew it. Crap.

Buffy looked in all possible directions for the source of the noise, her eyes finally fixed on a row of buses about ten meters away. She drew a stake from her jacket pocket and moved cautiously towards the bush. It had taken her a couple of seconds to find the creature’s hiding place, probably a new record.
The bush rustled, obviously the “thing” was trying to get away. She was not going to let the only monster to appear in two weeks get away.
The slayer dived into the bush only to land on a ditzy vampire that she should of staked ages ago. Buffy pushed a stake up against Harmony’s heart.
“Give me one reason not to stake you right now” she gave Harmony a moment to think (Good god did she need it).
“Coz…I have great hair?” Harmony wondered if that would pass for a answer, of course it wasn’t as Buffy grabbed a handful of the vampire’s beautiful hair and dragged her out of the bush by it.
“There isn’t going to be a pathetic plan to kill off the legacy of the slayer?” Buffy crossed her arms.
“No!”, Harmony wined, “It’s a very good one” she could see Buffy about to punch her so she explained the real reason for her return to Sunnydale, “I’m here to annoy Spike”
“Annoy Spike?” the vampire nodded, “Ok, I’ll let you go” Buffy pushed Harmony back before she left, “Just try not to kill anyone”
