A Change in you: 1
by Spikes Queen
“I need you to watch them,” Buffy said, softly.
“What happened?” Spike asked, concerned.
“I’ll tell you when I get back,” Buffy said, going toward her mom and sister. “I wont be gone long. You’ll be safe here.” She looked back at Spike as he came toward them. “Thank you.”
Spike smiled a little. “No problem,” he said, as she left. He looked at Dawn and Joyce. “You guys want anything?”
“I can get it,” Dawn said, going to Spike’s fridge.
Joyce smiled at her daughter. “There’s stuff other then blood in there?” She asked, looking at Spike.
Spike smiled at Joyce. “Dawn comes here a lot,” he said. “Passions is on, if you’d like to watch with me.”
Joyce made a bee line for the couch and Spike turned the television on. “You watch Passions?” She teased.
“Cant live without it,” Spike said as Dawn came over to him. “You want anything?”
“No, thank you,” Joyce said, softly.
“Spike?” Dawn asked, looking up at him. “Can you help me with
my homework?”
“No problem, Nibblet,” he said, as they sat at the sarcophagus.
Buffy returned several hours later and smiled. Her mother was asleep on the couch with a blanket over her. Dawn was laying on the sarcophagus with her head in Spike’s lap as he stroked her hair. He looked up when he heard her come in.
Buffy went over to him but was quiet as to not wake her mom and sister.
She smiled and sat behind him on the sarcophagus. “You okay?” She whispered in his ear.
“My back hurts,” he admitted softly.
Buffy sat with her legs on either side of him. “Lean back,” she said.
Spike slowly did as he was told and leaned against Buffy, releasing the pressure on his spine.
“That better?” She asked.
“Yeah,” Spike said, sleepily. “I didn’t wanna fall asleep, incase.”
“You can snooze now. I don’t have the heart to wake them yet,” she said. “This is the safest place they can be.”
“You wanna tell me what’s going on?” Spike asked, softly.
“When we’re alone, I’ll tell you everything. Promise,” Buffy said, her hands resting on his arms. “Get some sleep. I wont leave ‘til you wake up.”
Spike sighed and his eyes fell closed. “Nite Pet,” he mumbled.
Buffy smiled. “Nite, Spike,” she said.
Spike woke some time later and didn’t wanna wake his girls.
Dawn had gotten up and joined her mom on the couch.
He carefully situated himself and Buffy so they could both lay down on the sarcophagus, but he placed them innocently so hopefully he wouldn’t end up a pile of dust when she woke up.
