You Are Not Gunna Die: 1
by Spikes Queen
Spike tired to push himself up and collapsed again. That fall took a lot more out of him then he thought it would.
He pushed himself up and looked up at the tower. Painfully, he made his way back to the tower.
Slowly and painfully, he climbed his way back to the top just as Doc was about to slice through Dawn, but Spike got there first and pushed Doc off the tower.
“Spike!” Dawn screamed.
“It’s okay, Nibblet,” he said, untying her.
Dawn was about to jump in his arms but she knew he was hurt. “Come on. We need to get off this tower,” she said, gently leading him to the stairs.
“Nibblet, you go ahead,” Spike said, painfully.
“No, you’re coming too,” Dawn said.
“Dawn,” Spike said, softly. “I’m not gunna be able to make it.”
Tears welled in Dawn’s eyes. “No. you’re gunna make it. I’m not gunna leave you up here.” Her tears slid out of her eyes. “Please just try?”
Spike unable to take her tears, nodded.
Carefully, they made their way down.
When they were almost to the bottom, Spike really couldn’t take it anymore.
“Spike please,” Dawn whimpered. “We’re almost there.”
“Dawn, look at me,” Spike said, softly.
Dawn looked at him.
“I love you,” Spike said, with a smile. “And I love Buffy. I promised her I would protect you and I have. You’ll be okay.”
Dawn was full on sobbing now and she slid to the ground with him. “I love you too,” she whimpered, pulling his head into her lap. “I know Buffy loves you.”
Then Buffy came running up the tower. “Dawn, you’re ok,” she said, dropping to her knees with them. “Oh god, Spike.”
“Buffy, he’s really hurt,” Dawn whimpered. “Please don’t let him die. He saved me.”
Buffy looked at her. “Dawn, get off the tower,” she said.
“But..” Dawn protested.
“Nibblet,” Spike said, softly. “Do as she says.”
Dawn looked down at him. “Oh god, Spike,” she said, repeating Buffy’s words. “I love you.”
“I love you took,” Spike whispered, tenderly.
Dawn kissed his forehead softly and sniffled. Reluctantly, she carefully slid out from under him. She looked at him for a long moment before going down the stairs.
Buffy looked at Spike. “I’m not gunna let you die,” she said.
“Buffy, please don’t. Just put me out of my misery,” Spike whispered.
Buffy pulled Spike to his feet. “You are not gunna leave me like the rest,” she said, with tears in her eyes. “Please?”
“We have to hurry,” Spike said. “The sun’s coming up.”
Buffy nodded and quickly helped in down the stairs.
Dawn looked up when she heard them come down. “Spike?”
“Giles, take Dawn to the hospital so I can get Spike home,” Buffy said, not even pausing as they headed in the direction of Revello Drive. “I’ll meet everyone at my house.”
