Crazy Times: Prologue

None of the BTVS characters or images belong to me. I'm poor as dirt and am only borrowing Joss's wonderful ideas and addinig my spin to them.

This story takes place after the last episode of this season

Prologue

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Buffy perched on the cold brick wall, waiting for her target to come into kicking range. Sensing opportunity, she delivered a forcefull blow to the startled vampire who promptly fell to the ground.Dispersing of him in no time at all, she realized that this would be the first time thay she had time to catch up on her school work in weeks. While slaying was great aerobic excirze, it also was not very good for GPA maintience. She had heard the "responsibilty" line from her mom and teachers dozens of times before. "If only they knew" she said, muttering to herself as she continued on her way home. She envied Willow who could maintain perfect grades and still combat the forces of darkness. Buffy wondered. Although Willow was not conventionaly pretty, she had a presence that was like no other. It was she who had convinced Angel to ask Buffy out on a date. The slayer hoped that her freind would have simmilar luck---especialy with the mysterious guy from the band who had been eying her, His attraction to her was unmistakable, yet Buffy also wondered if he was all that was cracked up to be. While tempted to judge this guy by the past dating reccord of their clique, also remembering the somewhat successfull romantioc relationship between her and Angel.

Angel. He was the love of her life, and yet he was not alive. She remembered the night that they had kissed in her room, how he had asked her permssion before kissing her. More than anything, that realy won her heart. Well aware that the world contained such icky things as sexual harrasment and date rape, she was ecstatic that her man did not approve of such things. Although she did not know abot the expereinces of other, Buffy thought that her high school had it all wrong when it came to gender relations. Sure they had sadie hawkins, yet the dance was of little special interest to her since she was not a wallflower. Back at Hemery High in LA, she had expected the guy to do all of the work, lest she be seen as "unfeminine" or called realy hurtfull things----but then she became the slayer, discovering how her "freinds" thought lowly of unconventional women. Moving to Sunnydale had been a major cultural change, yet there still lurked stiffling conformity in dating . On the other hand, it was getting kind of stale to always do the asking out AND it was no more free than always depending on the guy either. Thank goodness for Willow's intervention.
