You know the deal. Joss etc. owns everything, I own nothing.

Prologue

Gasps and stares followed Willow Rosenburg as she made her way down the hallway of Sunnydale High School. Ignoring them all, she proceeded calmly to the library, only a slight flush on her cheeks indicating that she was aware of the intense interest directed her way. However, her steps did speed up gradually under the gaze of her fellow students, and her pace had quickened enough by the time she reached the familiar swing doors that she had brushed past her best friend, Xander, before he had time to notice anything different about her. Which was a pity.

"Giles! Giles?" Her voice echoed sweetly in the silence of the library and her auburn tresses flew this way and that as she searched the cavernous room for her friend and mentor.

"Ah, Willow. I'm glad you're here. Bad news I'm afraid. Faith died this morning and I wanted to talk to you about a very strange proph- Good Lord!" Giles' voice trailed off as he raised his eyes from the book he'd been holding and took in her altered appearance.

Her hair glinted like fire, even in the subdued lighting of the library, her luminous eyes looked warmly at him from between a tangle of long dark lashes and her mouth pouted sensually, but the difference in her elfin face was the least of the changes that had overtaken his innocent little Willow.

He allowed his eyes to drift down over her firm young body, curves emphasized by a tight top and an extremely short green skirt. His gaze trailed down her seemingly endless legs to where her tiny feet were encased in a pair of ridiculously feminine sandals. Giles jerked his head away, blushing furiously. "Buffy," he called, and the blonde Slayer appeared out of the stacks.

*Thud* The heavy tome Buffy was holding dropped unnoticed to the ground as she stared at her friend. Giles smiled slightly, and, turning to face the shell-shocked girl announced blandly, "You may stop researching now, Buffy. We've just found Faith's replacement."
