Home Again: 1
by Spikes Queen
Buffy looked over at the confusion as saw a sight she thought she’d never see again. “Spike?” She whispered, going toward him. She grew angry and broke up the fight. She looked at both of her ensouled vampires. “Outside now,” she growled.
Once outside, Spike’s nerves were shot. He couldn’t stop staring at her and all he wanted to do was hold her.
Buffy looked at Spike and her eyes softened. “You’re alive,” she whispered, going over to cradle his cheek.
Tears welled in Spike’s eyes at her touch. “Still dead but I know what you mean,” he whispered.
Angel’s jealousy raged in him at the tender moment they were having. “Um… Buffy?” He asked.
Buffy looked at him. “Why are you guys here?” She asked.
“Angel got word that you were in trouble,” Spike said. “Then Andrew told us about the Immortal.”
“You’re spying on me?” Buffy asked, moving away from them.
“I wasn’t,” Spike said, defensively. “I didn’t even know where you were but Angel said you were in trouble and I had to make sure you were okay.”
“I could you not know where I was?” Buffy asked.
“Can we not talk about this in the middle of the street?” Angel asked.
“I guess I’m taking you home,” she muttered.
Once at her apartment, Andrew had already left.
Spike stood away from Buffy and Angel with his arms crossed trying to keep his emotions under control.
“Who wants to go first?” Buffy asked, confused and happy and angry all at the same time.
“Buffy,” Angel said. “The immortal?”
“What I do with my personal life is not your business,” Buffy said, crossing her arms.
“He’s dangerous,” Angel said.
“So are you,” Buffy said.
“But I wouldn’t hurt you,” Angel said, softly.
“Neither would he,” Buffy said, looking at Spike. “Don’t you have anything to say?”
“Whaddaya want me to say?” Spike asked, looking at her. “I wasn’t spying on you. I know enough to stay out of your business.”
“Is that why you didn’t call?” Buffy asked.
“I couldn’t,” Spike said, softly.
“What do you mean?” Buffy asked.
“I was a ghost,” he said, softly.
“You obviously aren’t now,” Buffy said, hurt and anger evident in her voice.
“Don’t you think I wanted to find you?” Spike asked, upset. “I want to be with you, to talk to you but I didn’t know where you were or how to get to you.”
Buffy looked at Angel with murder in her eyes. ’You knew where I was,” she growled. “We talked on the phone and you didn’t have the decency to tell me he was back.”
“You were talking to her?” Spike asked, going over to him. “How dare you?”
“Don’t even Spike,” Angel said.
“Angel, you kept him from me!” Buffy yelled. “You knew I loved him and missed him and you kept him from me!”
“I didn’t want you to know,” Angel said.
“You didn’t want me with her,” Spike said, softly.
Buffy noticed the look in Spike’s eyes. “Angel, I need to talk to Spike,” she said, calmer.
“I’ll be at the Wolfram and Hart base in Rome,” he said. “You can reach me there.”
And he left without another word.
