Time to Talk: 1
by Spikes Queen
Spike watched as Buffy followed Riley to his lower level. His heart shattered, and he finished dressing before leaving.
He let himself in the front door of the Summer’s house and noticed Dawn in the living room.
Dawn’s head came up and she smiled at her best friend. “Hi Spike,” she said, going over to him.
Spike managed a small smile. “I gotta talk to you and its important,” he said, softly.
Dawn frowned and followed him to the front porch. “What happened?”
Spike leaned against a pillar. “I’ve been keeping secrets from you,” he said.
Dawn crossed her arms. “You promised not to keep secrets,” she said.
“I know,” Spike said.
“So, what’s the secret?” Dawn asked.
“Buffy and I have been sleeping together so to speak,” he said, avoiding her eyes.
Dawn sighed. “Oh that, I already know,” she said.
Spike looked up at her in surprised. “What?”
Dawn smiled. “Spike, come on. You think I’m blind? I never see you. When I do see you, its when you and Buffy are ‘patrolling’,” she said. “Why are you with all the upset face?”
“’Cause Riley walked in on us and she chose him,” Spike said. “I’m not one to argue with your sister about he rex. You know the demon they are hunting?”
Dawn n9odded. “Yeah they’re looking for…..eggs.” she paused and looked at him. “You know about the eggs.”
“I don’t know what they do or what they are but I know that I could have gotten $5000 for them,” he said.
Dawn glared at him. “What would you need $5000 for?” She flared.
“’Tis not for me. For and your sister. Money’s kinda tight right now and I cannot stand her working at that hell hole,” he said.
“Oh,” Dawn said. “You should have told her or at least me.”
Spike went down the stairs and paced the front yard. “Well, ‘sides all that, I came to say goodbye,” he said, softly.
Tears came to Dawn’s eyes. “What?”
Spike bowed his head. “I’m leaving, Lil Bit.”
Dawn went up to him. “You cant,” she said.
Spike smiled a little. “I gotta,” he said, pushing her hair back.
Tears flowed down her cheeks as he wrapped his arms around her.
Dawn shook in his arms as she cried.
Inside, Xander, Willow and a now present Buffy, watched them. Buffy raised an eyebrow. “I cant hear what they’re saying,” she said. “I cant make out why Dawn is upset.”
Willow shrugged. “I cant either.”
Dawn’s tears slowed but they didn’t stop.
Spike pulled away and kissed her forehead. “I’ll write to you. And I’ll call. Okay?” He asked, wiping her wet cheeks.
Dawn sniffled. “Promise?”
Spike smiled. “Yeah. I wont be far so if something really bad happens, I’ll be here. I’m gunna get a cell phone and I’ll give you the number.”
Dawn nodded. “Okay,” she said.
Spike kissed her forehead again. “Tell Buffy I love her,” he said, softly.
“I will and if I don’t hear from you in the next few days, I’ll get worried,” she said.
“Be good okay?” Spike asked, walking toward the side walk.
“Spike?” He turned and looked at her. “I love you.”
Spike smiled. “I love you, too, Nibblet. Now go inside before you get in trouble,” he said.
Dawn smiled and reluctantly went inside.
Spike went back to his crypt and grabbed what he had left and found his car. He loaded his car and looked around his crypt.
