Coming Out Alive: 2
by Spikes Queen
In the training room, Dawn was sitting in Spike’s lap again. “Spike?” She whispered.
“Yeah?” Spike asked.
“Tell me and don’t sugar coat it, please,” she whispered.
Spike sighed and told her what he knew. “But I wont let anything happen to you or your sister. I promise,” he said, softly.
Buffy walked into the training room and had to smile at them. “What are you guys up to?” She asked, going over to them.
Spike looked at her. “I told her everything but I promised I wouldn’t let anything happen to either one of you and I’m gunna keep my promise,” he said.
Buffy looked at Dawn. “I need to talk to Spike,” she said.
Dawn carefully climbed out of Spike’s lap and wiped her face. “I’ll go talk to Giles,” she said, leaving.
Buffy watched as Dawn left and turned to Spike. “I don’t think we’re gunna make it,” she said.
Spike sighed. “I will make sure you and Dawn come out alive,” he said.
Buffy climbed on the mats next to him. “We want you to come out also,” she said.
Spike smiled a little. “If I don’t, it wont be the end of world,” he said.
Buffy pushed the wild curls away from his forehead. “It might be for me and Dawn,” she said.
Spike frowned and got off the mats. “Buffy, I cant promise that I’m gunna make it, but I wont stop fighting. I’ll protect you and Dawn ‘til the end of the world,” he said.
Buffy gave him a small smile. “Spike,” she said, standing up and going over to him. She brought her hand up to his cheek. “I know you love me and you love Dawn. I don’t think there’s anyway that you’ll fait me and Dawn. The love you have for us would give you the strength to save us,” she said.
Spike nuzzled her fingers. “Buffy, I know you’ll never love me, but you make me feel like a man and that’s…” He was cut off by Buffy’s lips gently pressing against his.
Spike kissed her back softly.
Buffy pulled away slightly. “If we live through this, and I’m confident we will, you and I are gunna talk. I’ve lost so much these past couple of months. I cant believe I’m still alive,” she said.
Spike rested his hands on her hips. “Cuz of your mom?” He whispered.
Buffy rested her head on his chest. “I just miss her so much, Spike. I don’t know if I can be a parent,” she said, tears in her eyes.
Spike wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close to him. “Yes you can.”
Buffy started sobbing in his arms. “Spike, I cant lose anyone else. Including you,” she said.
Spike kissed her hair. “Come on, Pet. We still gotta beat Glory,” he said, taking her out of the training room.
Buffy snuggled up against him and sniffled.
Giles looked over at her. “There’s only about a ½ hour left,” he said.
“Well, we cant stay here,” Buffy said. “It’s too obvious.”
“We’ll go through the sewers,” Spike said. “I know where we should be safe,” he said, going to the basement.
Dawn was close behind him. “Wait for me,” she said.
Spike wrapped an arm around her and led the rest of the gang through the sewers.
