“What do you mean you can’t see me?!” said Cordelia

“She’s just there!” I said, pointing at Cordelia. Fred evidently didn’t believe me, she was looking at me as if I was crazy.

“Lilah, why don’t you come over here and sit down” Asked Fred

“I’ve gone to a huge risk to bring Cordelia here! The least you can do is believe me!” I almost felt like crying! Not from sadness, but from a mix of anger and fear, once again fear. I still don’t know why I was afraid, It might be because of the senior partners, if they found out what I was doing, I don’t even want to think about it.

“Okay. Lilah, why did you even come here?” she asked

“Because she was helping me!” said Cordelia, her words went unnoticed, or unheard.

“I was helping Cordelia” You twit. I didn’t say the last bit

“Why would you help Cordelia, or anyone for that matter? Unless there was something in it for you.”

“I don’t know” I said. I defiantly wasn’t trying to become a better person, or something like that.

“Great. So you’re saying Cordelia is here” said Fred

“Yes, Cordelia is here, but you don’t seem to be able to see her” I think it’s strange that I can see her but her friend can’t, I hope I’m not crazy.

“Has she told you anything?”

“She said she was a higher being” I wasn’t going to add the part about her appearing in my office.

“Really?!”

“She said it was boring and she wouldn’t tell me if she had talked to the Powers That Be or not” That was a pity, I would have liked to hear about it.

“She might just be an astral projection or a spirit that only you can see, I might be able to trace her or get a scan of her somehow.” She seemed almost exited. Probably because of the Powers That Be thing, they’re no more interesting than the senior partners.

Fred went upstairs, leaving me with Cordelia, whom only I could see or hear.

“Do you think I’m a ghost?” Asked Cordelia. That was an interesting thought, if she was a ghost then it was impressive that I could see her. I was starting to regret not asking Wesley to help, too late now—

“Uh, hello. Earth to evil lawyer. Lilah! Oh great don’t tell me you can’t hear me now!”

“Yes! I can hear you!” I snapped. She had interrupted my thoughts. I might’ve been about to come up with something interesting.

“God, sor-ry” she said. She looked upset.

“Lilah, why are you here?” Asked Gunn as he walked into the room

“I have Cordelia with me” He looked like he was about to throw me out the door— literally.

“I can’t see Cordelia, and why are you here alone?” He sounded slightly frustrated.

“She’s invisible, and only I can see and hear her” He looked like he thought I was lying, He had a good reason to think so. The amount of times I *have* lied to them, it’s understandable.

“I think she’s right” Fred walked down stairs as she said this. I wonder why she so suddenly believes me.

“Why do you say that?” asked Gunn

“I did a scan of the building and there is a spirit of some sort right next to Lilah” so, I was right, she’s a spirit of some sort and only I can see her!

I smiled, I couldn’t help it.

“What?!” said Gunn, he still didn’t trust me, I could tell by the tone of his voice.

“I was right! I’m not crazy, Cordelia is real!” I had to put my had over my mouth to stop myself from laughing

“I wish people would stop talking about me like I’m not here!” said Cordelia

“Sorry, I’ll try” I told her, Fred and Gunn exchanged unsure looks.

“Uh, Lilah. What conversation are you in?” Fred asked me

“Cordelia wants us to stop talking about her like she’s not here” Cordelia gave me a nasty look, I had just done it again.

“Okay” said Fred and Gunn at the same moment. They must think I’m crazy.
