Spikes Girls: 1

by Spikes Queen

Spike came home from work and his 6 year old came running out of the kitchen. “Daddy!” She squealed.

“Hey Baby,” Spike said, scooping her up.

“Mommy’s upset,” Kary whispered.

“She is?” Spike asked, going to the kitchen. “Buffy?”

Buffy looked up at him. “Hi, Honey,” she said, smiling.

“You okay?” Spike asked, softly.

“Yeah,” Buffy said, going over to give him a kiss. “I have to run to the office. Willow and Angel wanna talk to me. I wont be gone long.”

Spike smiled and kissed her again. “Have fun,” he said.

Buffy grabbed her coat and purse before going to Wolfram and Heart.

Angel looked up as Buffy came into his office. “Hey Buffy. You okay?”

“I need to talk to you and its kind of important,” she said, going to sit in front of him.

Angel came over and crouched in front of
him. “What’s wrong?” He asked.

“I think I’m pregnant,” Buffy whispered.

“That’s great,” Angel said.

“Angel, Kary was a prophecy. How can Spike give me anymore children? The reason I came over is because I don’t think it’s his,” she whispered.

“Why would you think that?” Angel asked.

Buffy ducked her gaze as her eyes filled with tears. “A few weeks ago, I told Spike I was going out with Willow for a few drinks. I lied to him because someone from work asked me to dinner. We had a few drinks and the next morning there we were. Spike didn’t suspect anything because I stopped by Willow’s for a shower,” she said.

Buffy pulled Buffy into his arms. “Did you tell him anything?” He asked.

Buffy shook her head. “No,” she said, meeting his gaze. “Is there anyway to find out if Spike is the father?”

Buffy went home feeling miserable and when she came in, Spike came from upstairs. “Kary just went to sleep,” he said, smiling.

Buffy hung up her coat and threw her purse on the table. She climbed the stairs and kissed him softly. “Tomorrow, Dawn is taking Kary for the day. There is some stuff I have to tell you and I don’t think it’s a good idea for Kary to be here,” she said.

Spike raised an eyebrow. “Lets get some sleep,” he said, taking her to their bedroom. “You look exhausted.”

The next day, Dawn took Kary and said she would have her back by eight.

By the time it was almost dark, Spike was beyond worried. “Okay, Buffy. Lets sit down and talk about whatever it is that’s bothering you,” he said, pulling her to the living room.

Buffy sat on the couch and Spike sat next to her. “Spike, I’m pregnant,” she said, softly.

Spike broke into a huge smile. “That’s wonderful,” he said.

“Under normal circumstances, I would be thrilled but there’s something else I have to tell you. God, this really hard,” she said, tears in her eyes.

Spike pulled her into his arms and hugged her tightly. “Buffy I love you and you can tell me whatever it is,” he said.

Buffy gently pushed him away. “Spike, a few ago when I told you I was going out with Willow, I lied,” she said.

“You what?” Spike asked.

“I didn’t go out with Willow. I had a few drinks with someone from work and we were both really drunk. We didn’t realize what had happened until the next morning,” she said.

Spike stood up and moved away from her. “So the baby’s not mine?” He asked, on the verge of tears.

“I had Willow do a spell. The baby is yours,” she said, looking up at him. She stood up at went toward him. “Spike, I’m sorry. I just didn’t know how to tell you.”

Spike went to the door and grabbed his coat. “I need some time to think,” he said.

“Okay,” Buffy whispered, as he left.

Spike drove to Wolfram and Hart to see Angel. Angel looked up as Spike came in with tear tracks on his face. Angel knew that Buffy had told him and went over to him.

Spike fell into his sire’s arms and sobbed.

After a while Spike’s cries died down and Angel was able to sit him down.

“She didn’t trust me enough to tell me,” he whimpered.

“She was scared. She’s even more scared now, because she thinks that she’s losing you,” Angel said, softly.

At the house, Buffy tucked her little girl in and she heard the door open.

“Spike?” She whispered, going out into the hall.

She went to the top of the stairs and Spike was leaning against the door. “You lied to me,” he said.

Buffy closed her eyes. “I know,” she whispered.

“But we’re going to have a baby so I think I’ll get over it,” he said, looking up at her.

Buffy opened her eyes and came down the stairs. She walked up to him and wrapped her arms
around his middle.

Spike hugged her close to him. “I love you, Buffy.”

“I love you, too,” Buffy whispered, against his shoulder.

Spike kissed her hair. “Go up and get ready for bed. I’ll be up in a minute,” he said.

Buffy nodded and went upstairs.

Spike turned off the lights and locked up the house before going upstairs.

Buffy was sitting in bed with her knees pulled up to her chest. “I’m sorry,” she whispered.

Spike took off his clothes and climbed in next to her. “Why didn’t you tell me before?”

“I don’t know,” Buffy said. “I was scared.”

“Buffy, you gotta tell me these things. No matter what it is we can get through it. But you have to talk to me,” he said.

Buffy ducked her head. “I’m sorry,” she said, again.

Spike pulled her into his arms. “It’s okay. Just don’t do it again,” he said, kissing the top of her
head.

Buffy nodded and hugged him tightly. “I love you,” she whispered.

“I love you too,” Spike said.

Buffy sniffled and closed her eyes.

When Spike was sure she was sleeping, he settled them fully into the bed. He closed his eyes
but it was a long time before he was asleep.
