Stay and Hold me: 1
by Spikes Queen
Spike walked in the back door just as he heard. “Is that why you sent Spike away? To ambush me?” Came Buffy’s voice.
Spike walked into the living room. “Ambush?” He asked.
Everyone turned to look at him. “Spike,” Giles said.
“Rupert,” Spike said.
“How’d it go?” Giles asked.
“Or next plan should be to go the vineyard,” he said, looking at Buffy. “Fully loaded.”
“I told you!” Buffy yelled.
Giles scowled at her. “You’re still not thinking clearly,” he said.
Spike looked at them before taking Buffy’s hand and pulling her to the back porch.
“Buffy what is going on?” He asked.
“Spike, we don’t have time for this,” Buffy said, going toward the door.
Spike put his hand on the door, and prevented her from opening it. “Buffy, this isn’t about us. This is about why you and Giles are fighting,” he said.
“No. I told everyone that we should go to the vineyard and they were out voting me to put Faith in charge,” she said, moving his hand out of the way to open it. “You belong with her anyway. I’m not in the picture anymore.”
Spike followed Buffy inside and saw the tears in her eyes as she went to the living room. “You’re right. Faith is a better leader then me. So good luck,” she said, grabbing her coat and leaving.
Spike looked at Dawn but she wouldn’t meet his eyes. “You’re all gunna die,” he growled. “And I hope you burn in hell.”
Faith followed him as he went toward the door. “Spike, where are you doing? We need you,” she said.
Spike opened the front door. “Buffy needs me,” he said, leaving.
“I must be losing my touch,” Faith mumbled.
Spike walked down the walk way and noticed Buffy walked down the street. ‘Buffy?” He called as he ran up to her.
Buffy stopped and turned around. “Spike, Faith’s waiting. She needs you,” Buffy said, her voice catching.
Spike took his chances and kissed her softly. “Do I look like I care?” He asked, pressing his forehead against hers.
Buffy took a shaky breath. “Spike..”
“Lets find some place to stay first. Then we’ll talk,” he said, taking her hand.
Buffy leaned against him.
Only when Spike laid her on a bed did she realize the she had moved.
“Spike, you belong at the house,” she said.
“Why do you keep saying that?” Spike asked, sitting next to her.
“Isn’t she you’re new girl?” Buffy whispered.
“What gave you that idea?” Spike asked.
“You guys looked pretty cozy in the basement. I just figured since someone better, sexier, stronger, everything better then me, came into your life, you’d… fall in love with her,” she said, looking away from him.
Spike cupped her face and turned it back to his. “Buffy, she doesn’t even come close to you,” he whispered.
Tears slid down Buffy’s cheeks. “Spike, she can give you everything that I cant,” she said.
Spike gently pulled Buffy up and into his arms. “Buffy, do you trust me?” He asked, rubbing a hand up and down her back.
“Yes,” Buffy said, in a firm voice.
“Then you’ve already given me everything,” Spike whispered.
“But I don’t think I could ever tell you that I love you,” Buffy said, burying her face in his neck.
“That’s ok, Pet. If you ever do love me, I’ll know. And I’m now gunna hurt you by falling for Faith. She’s not my type. I love you for who you are, Buffy. I love what you do,” Spike said, gently pushing her away. “How you try. I’ve seen your kindness and your strength. I’ve seen the best and the worst of you. And I understand with perfect clarity exactly what you are. You’re a hell of a woman. You’re the one Buffy,” he whispered.
Buffy’s tears increased as she listened to his words. “Spike, are you gunna stay with me?” Buffy asked, looking up at him.
“If you want me to,” Spike said.
“I want you to stay with me,” Buffy said, reaching for his hand.
Spike laid her down and spooned against her back.
Buffy snuggled up against him and sighed happily. “Goodnight Spike,” she whispered.
“Night Pet,” Spike said, kissing her hair as they both fell asleep.
