Someone To Hold: Chapter 4

Buffy smiled as she listened to Angel talk. He wasn't talking about anything in particular, mostly just babbling but it was adorable, "That is just facinating." She laughed and so did he.

"I'm sorry I tend to babble when I don't know what to say." He was quiet.

"Ok so...tell me about you. You're family. Friends? It should be easy to know what to say." He stayed quiet, "Alright we don't talk about you then.."Buffy got quiet too.

"I just don't like talking about my family or my friends or my past. Just..not me."

"Oh..sorry." Buffy looked at her watch, 11:06, "Crap.. listen I gotta go. It's been great meeting you. If you wanna hang or something call me." Buffy jotted down her number on a napkin and turned to leave.

"Wait." Buffy turned around and smiled, maybe he was ready to talk. So what if she was a little late she'd stay if he wanted her to. "No walking alone at night remember? You promised."

Buffy couldn't help but smile, he was cute, and he cared, "Well...all my friends left already. Who would walk me?"

He laughed, "M'lady?" He stood and offered his arm which she gladly took.

When they got to her door, they just stood there for a second, not quite knowing what to do, "Soo.....this is it. My house. The place where I live." Buffy bounced on her toes waiting to see what would happen. It was already 11:28 and she couldn't wait much longer.

"Yep..tonight was..fun..getting to know you. I'll call you."

"Ok. Goodnight." Buffy opened her door and walked inside willing him to tell her to wait, but having no luck. She just closed the door, walked upstairs, and went to bed to dream of what could've happened.
