Seeing Life Again: 1
by Spikes Queen
“Ouch!” Spike growled, as Lorne removed another bullet. “Take it easy green jeans.”
“Yeah. ‘Fraid I don’t have Fredikin’s gently touch,” he said.
“Just get on with it,” Spike said.
Angel came out of his bedroom buttoning his shirt and he looked at Spike. “You okay?”
Spike looked up at him. “I could go a long time without getting shot,” he said, as Lorne finished up.
“I know the feeling,” Angel said, as Spike stood up.
Then the elevator opened and a blonde woman stepped out. “Angel?”
Angel and Spike gaped at the woman. “Buffy.” Angel said, going toward her. “How’d you get up here?”
“I really need to talk to you,” Buffy said, apparently not noticing Spike yet. “I didn’t want to intrude.”
Spike watched Angel and Buffy have their reunion. He put his shirt and duster on and managed to slip into the elevator unnoticed.
As it dinged close, Buffy’s attention snapped to it.
Angel looked around the room. “Why did he leave?”
“Who are you?” Asked Eve.
“I’m Buffy, the slayer. Who just left?” She asked, looking at Angel.
Angel looked at everyone around the room and Lorne nodded. “You have to tell her,” he said.
Angel looked at Buffy. “It was Spike,” eh said.
Buffy backed away from him. “Don’t say that. He’s dead,” she whispered.
“No, he came back. We don’t know how but he did,” Angel said.
“When?” Buffy asked.
“19 days after he died,” Angel said.
“What? That was months ago,” she said, tears in her eyes. “Why did he leave?”
“I don’t know but I think you should leave him alone for the night,” Angel said.
“Yeah right. I’m going to talk to him,” she said, going back to the elevator.
Angel watched as Buffy left and turned to Lindsey. “Talk,” he said.
Buffy came into the main lobby and saw Harmony at a desk. “Harmony?”
Harmony stood up from the desk. “Leave Spike alone. You’ve hurt him enough,” she said, crossing her arms.
Buffy frowned. “Who asked you?”
“No one, but Spike’s been getting better. He’s trying getting along with Angel and he’s helping us. He’s trying to except the fact that you don’t want him so leave him alone,” Harmony said, going to the elevator.
Buffy followed her. “Harmony, tell me where Spike is or I’ll hurt you,” she growled.
The elevator opened to the garage and Harmony walked away from her.
Buffy followed her. “Harmony, I really need to find him,” she said.
Harmony stopped short. “He’s gone. Angel is not gunna be happy about this,” Harmony said, going back to the elevator.
The elevator opened in Angel’s apartment and Harmony came out with Buffy. “Boss, Spike took your viper,” she said.
Angel rolled his eyes. “Not again,” he growled, taking out his phone. “Spike?”
“Angel, please not now,” Spike said.
“Spike where are you?” Angel asked.
“I’m just going for a drive. I’ll have your car back in one piece. I wont be gone too long,” he said.
“Spike, why are you doing this?” Angel asked. “She’s here.”
“She has you,” Spike said, hanging up.
Angel growled and closed his phone. “Stupid idiot,” he muttered.
“Where is he?” Buffy asked.
“He went for a drive but didn’t tell me where,” Angel said.
“Where would…” Buffy paused. “Sunnydale.”
“Sunnydale?” Angel asked.
“Angel, take me to Sunnydale. Please?” Buffy asked.
Angel looked at Lorne. “You and Harmony take care of them two,” he said. “I’ll be back.”
About 2 ½ hours later, Spike was standing at the crater, looking off into the distance. He heard a car pull up and sighed.
Buffy got out of the car and paused a the sight of him. “Spike,” she whispered.
“You gunna be okay?” Angel asked, looking at her.
Buffy looked at him. “We’ll be there soon,” she said, shutting the door.
Angel nodded and drove away.
Buffy looked at Spike, the wind blowing his duster around him. She walked towards him but stopped before she reached him.
“You don’t have to be shy, Buffy. I’m really here,” he said.
“But how?” Buffy asked, as if they were in a dream.
“I don’t know. Just am,” he said.
“Why didn’t anyone tell me?” Buffy asked.
“Didn’t want you to know yet,” Spike said, his back still to her.
“How could you not want me to know?” Buffy asked.
Spike turned to face her. “Because I remember what it was like for me when I saw you again,” he said.
Buffy smiled and went toward him. “Still, you should have told me,” she said, snaking her arms around his neck.
Spike wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close to him. “I missed you so much,” he whispered.
Buffy smiled. “I missed you more,” she said. “I love you.”
Spike pulled back and gazed down at her. “I love you too,” he whispered.
She leaned down and kissed her softly. Buffy deepened their kiss as the first rays started in the sky.
