To See You Again: 1
by Spikes Queen
Spike walked into Angel’s office as Angel hung up the phone. “We gotta talk,” he said, softly.
“Not now,” Angel whispered, tears clogging his throat.
“What happened?” Spike asked, hearing the pain in his voice.
“Cordy died,” Angel said, looking at Spike.
“But, wasn’t she just here?” Spike asked.
“No,” Angel said, collapsing on his sofa as the phone ran. “Can you get that?”
Spike, knowing Angel was hurting, went over and picked up the phone. “Hello?” There was a long pause and Spike tried again. “Hello?”
“Who is this?” Came a familiar voice.
Spike turned pale, much more then he already was. “Buffy,” he said, softly. “It’s me luv.”
Buffy gasped. “Spike?” She whispered.
Spike’s legs gave out and he slid to the floor. “I missed you,” Spike said.
Buffy sniffled and Spike could almost smell her tears. “I missed you too,” she whimpered.
“You sound so close,” Spike said. “Don’t cry.”
Spike heard a ding in the back ground but didn’t pay much attention to it. “Spike hang up the phone and get off the floor,” Buffy said, softly.
“How did you know I was on the floor?” Spike asked.
“Because I can see you,” Buffy said, from the doorway of Angel’s office.
Spike stumbled to his feet and hung up the phone. He gazed at his two favorite girls and his heart tightened in his chest.
Dawn ran over to him and jumped in his arms. “You are in so much trouble,” she said, as he spun her around.
Buffy smiled and went over to Angel. “Angel?” She asked, softly. “Are you okay?”
“Cordelia just died,” Angel said, his head against the back of the couch with his eyes closed.
“Oh god,” Buffy said, reaching her hand out to his. “Did she wake up?”
“No,” Angel said, tears choking his face.
Buffy, a little surprised when Angel busted into tears, slowly brought her arms around him.
Spike felt a pang of jealousy as Buffy comforted Angel but he saw the amount of love and affection that she was showing him as well. He knew what it was like to the one you love.
Buffy rocked Angel back and forth until he fell asleep. Carefully, she laid him down and went over to Spike and Dawn.
Dawn let go of Spike with one arm so Buffy could join the hug.
Buffy snuggled into Spike’s arms and inhaled the leather and smoke that surrounded him.
Spike closed his eyes and pulled his girls closer.
Then Fred walked in and paused. “Spike?” She asked, so she didn’t wake Angel.
Spike looked at Fred. “Can you stay with Angel??” He whispered.
Fred nodded. “Of course,” she said.
Spike guided his girls out of Angel’s office and quietly shut the door.
“Dawn and I have a house in L.A.,” she said, grabbing his hand.
