Tell Me It'll Be Ok: It's just a game
by Innocent Delirium
“Uh, I didn’t order this” An aquamarine martini suddenly appeared in front of her. True, she was just about done with her own drink but still she felt the need to say something; if at very least, she could find out where it came from.
The bartender simply smirked and pointed over his shoulder. He had to speak up to make sure he was heard but his voice was deep enough to carry over the loud sound of the club “It’s from wannabe Billy over there”
Cordelia glanced over in said direction only to spot a vaguely familiar man with bleached blonde hair. She could not help but think she had seen him somewhere before but she was drawing a blank. Looking back at the barkeep she nods. “Ah. Ok, thanks”
Customarily and somewhat playfully, she lifts her glass and nods at the blonde; whom is wearing a very evil expectant grin. Then nonchalantly takes a sip of new drink and looks away, around the bar. Berries and salt. It was an odd mix but she liked it. So much, in fact that she ordered it every time she came to this specific nightclub. Riley, the head barkeep, was the only one in town who could make it, so whenever she had the urge for one she would come crawling back to Quest.
After a few moments, she –expectantly- felt a pair of eyes watching her. Looking back slyly, she found the owner of the eyes watching her with a darkly seductive, disenchanted look. Giggling to herself, she puts forth a smirk, nodded him over.
I could have fun with this. Seduction was what she did best. It came to her naturally and always was a quick cure for boredom. With looks coming from all over, she learned early on that she could easily get anything she could want with a few playful glances. At 5'7, with long chestnut hair, glistening brown eyes, full pouty lips and naturally tan skin, she was definitely a knock-out. Aside from having the curves any Greek goddess would kill for, she also had brains, a quick wit and a personality that could easily enthrall.
Moments later, she sensed his presence behind her. Grinning to herself, she decided to keep her back to him. tease.
Smugly he placed both of his hands on the bar, locking her in her seat; inclining to her ear, he growls deeply, in a distinct British accent. “Do you always pick up guys in bars, luv?”
She knew this game and its rules but on a spur decides to change it up a bit. Still ignoring him, she takes another sip of his drink and smirks. “Only when I’m desperate…”
A shiver over takes her as he leans in a fraction of an inch closer. She could feel his warm breath on your ear as he purrs. “Desperate for what?”
She had to keep herself calm, remembering that this was just for kicks she takes a deep breath. With a slyly smile, she looks up at his reflection in the mirror behind the bar. “Attention...”
"Attention huh? "
Innocently, she grabs her drink and spins around in her barstool to face him with a childlike smile. "Yup"
Looking over her darkly clad body lustfully, he bites his lip and grins. "Somehow I find it very hard to believe that you would be desperate for anything… especially attention."
Still putting forth a naďve air, she shrugs. "Well I am…" Pouting sultrily, she looks up under inanely long lashes "Very desperate."
"Is that right? Care to tell why a hot little number, like yourself is so desperate?"
From his feedback, Cordy could tell that this innocent getup was really his forte. She knew from experience, that all men and women usually fall into one of three categories. Categories that can later be extensively subdivided; but three main divisions. There are those who are naturally dominate. Those who are naturally submissive. And then there are those chosen few who are capable of choosing either. She was lucky enough to have mastered that latter. From the response blondie was giving her and just his air in general, she had the feeling that he was the dominate type. By playing the innocent 'I'm just a girl' role, she was feeding into his need to be the man. The "Alpha-dog." It was working, so she opted to play it up.
"Between you and me…" Pretending to have a huge secret, she looks around for nearby people, and then looks at him hotly. "It's been four months."
It worked just as she had thought. She saw the enticing glint in his eyes as they skimmed over her once more pausing at her chest then finally coming to a stop, looking into her eyes. "That’s a very long time, pet. A woman like you shouldn't have to go that long."
Pet? There was one she had never heard before. It hit her and she suddenly felt the need to put him back in his place. "Do you think that- no nevermind"
"What is it luv? Don't be shy"
"Well…" She bit her lip and attempted to make herself seem as shy as possible. "I generally don't ask this of guys I just met but do you think that maybe you'd want to… help me?"
The blond let out a quick laugh, then leaned in extremely closely. "Your place or mine?" He was a little too close for her tastes but is she wanted to play she was going to accept the on the spot intimacy.
Giggling shyly, Cordelia leans in even closer yet and sucked in her pouty bottom lip. "Well I was actually thinking that maybe you could help me here" She lightly began tracing a freshly manicured finger along his collar bone. "Then after that maybe we could go back to your place and I could thank you"
He growled his response instantly "Where?"
She shivered slightly and the depth of the word, but decided to not lose her resolve. His quick reply was very satisfying. He seemed so excited, she almost felt bad but that feeling did not last long. "Bathroom."
"When?"
"Now"
"Which one?"
"Men's"
He grinned darkly and took her hand. "Let's get to it then"
She shook her head and pulled her hand back with a seductive smile. "No you go first. People will get suspicious if they see both of us. So you go and I'll be there in a minuet."
He tilted his head slightly, his dark blue eyes narrowing slightly. "How do I know you're telling the truth?"
He was getting doubtful. She knew she had to play it up and catch his attention again. Pouting her lips, she leaned up and whispered. "Because" Suring herself, she closed the small gap between them and kissed him playfully. Breaking the sudden kiss, she whispered against his lip. "I need this badly"
"Right then" He pulled away curling his tongue suggestively and holding up two fingers. "You've got two minuets"
"Two minuets"
He smirked then walked away. That was fun. she thought as she watched him walk confidently towards the restrooms. He walked in. Bingo
"Are you going with him?"
Grinning, the brunette spun around and looked at Riley. "Do I ever?"
He laughed and shook his head. "Cordelia Chase, you are horrible."
"You know it" She smiled and finished the rest of her free drink. "Usual story please?"
"Of course. I never saw you"
"Thanks" She looked down at her watch, then stood up and grabbed her bag. "I better get out of here. I'll see you later hun"
"Later"
With that Cordelia walked confidently through the crowd and out of the bar.
