Somethings never change: Familiar Foreign
by Innocent Delirium
“Wake up, Sunnydale! We’re back with the Buzz!” Moaning, Faith reaches up and turns off her alarm clock while quietly growling to herself. She didn't really want to go to class today but her dad threaten to take away her car if he found out she skipped class again, So she really had no choice. Once successfully freeing herself from the covers, she lazily walks over off to the shower. Who's fuckin’ idea was it to start class at 7:30 in the morning anyway
Sometime later, she emerges from the shower and walk over to the closet. While searching through the mess she called a closet, she glances up at the clock. “Holy shit! I’m gonna be late!” Quickly grabbing some clothes, she throws them on then sprint out of the house to her car.
She quickly throws her bag in, climbs in then takes off.

Faith arrives at school fairly quickly, then rushes out of the car and sprint across campus to her locker causing her bag to flap wildly behind her. “C`mon, Please work for me” She pleads with her usually stubborn locker as she works the lock and to her surprise it opens. Snatching her things she slam it shut and turns to race to her home room… all the way to the other side of campus. Well I’ve had my work out for the day
Arriving at the door, the quickest she's ever in possibly her life, she growls upon the realization that it was locked. You have to be fuckin kidding me! Apparently she was later then she thought. Sighing she turns and reluctantly begin walking towards the tardy room
On her way to uncertain doom, Faith just happens to glance up into the window of the main office. Through it, she spots the principal talking to two other men. Her pace slows unintentionally as she lets her curiosity get the better of her and begins observing the two guys in the office. I’m so freakin nosy
The first man had grayish brown hair and looked to be about 6`1. He had his back partially to her but from what she could see she could presuppose that he was in his late to mid 50’s. Looks like a teacher or something
AS for the second guy. Wow! Term; Hottie would be a definite understatement. He looked to be about her age and with spiky bleached blond hair. Although slightly shorter then the other man, he was still pretty tall and lanky. He was clad in all black with a worn leather duster and big black combat boots to wrap it all up. She couldn't help but to glare at the boy. He seemed defiantly drool worthy.
Completely oblivious to the fact that she had now come to a complete stop and also that she had not suddenly turned into a ghost at her will, she continues to stare at the hottie in the office.
Leisurely checking him out she looks up and sees it…uh-oh…sees him… looking directly at her with his head cocked to the side and an evil little smirk playing on his lips. Shit! Nice going Faithy!
Suddenly her happy little world comes crashing down.
*******
“No, see you my friend, are totally whacked!” From her position atop a metal bench in the middle of the school courtyard, Faith points sternly downward at the small group of friends in front of her. “How the hell do you expect me to believe that we were just placed on this earth fully developed? That makes absolutely no sense!”
Hank always told her 'never discuss religion or politics'. Yeah, well it’s to late for that bit of information. And also 'If you’re going to get into a heated debate make sure you have good reason to back you up and know what you’re talking about… At very least sound like you know what you’re talking about.' I especially like that last part… I love Hank. He is very commonsensical.
“It makes perfect sense Faith, and you know it!” Yells back, a very aggravated Xander. Her friend, current debating rival and creator of this entire dispute. “What doesn’t make sense is…”
Not really caring about his view on the topic, Faith begins zoning out. By chance she happens to glance up and see Riley and his friends walking off to the gymnasium. Oh yeah, I knew there was something I had to do today… Guess it’s time to play.
“Faith! Faith!” Xander waves his hand in front of her face, bring her back to reality.
“What?” she snaps, looking slightly lost.
“Were you even paying attention to anything I said?” He asks scowling, clearly irritated.
Faith grins as she slings her back pack over her shoulder. “Do I ever pay attention to anything you say?” With she jump off the bench that and lands on the ground with a loud and perversely satisfying thump.
The whole group stops debating and turns to look at her. Cordelia, her best friend, jumps back slightly then promptly steps forward again. Raising her hand she smacks Faith in the back of the head. “Watch it psycho case, you almost landed on my foot!”
Cordelia was the first friend Faith made when she moved to Sunnydale and the two have been inseparable ever since. “Where the hell are you going anyway?”
“Umm…” How do I put this? She couldn’t just say that she was going to tell Buffy’s boyfriend to leave her alone. I’d never hear the end of it! “There’s some business I’ve got to take care of”
Wesley, Cordelia’s boyfriend, grins evilly. “She’s probably headed to the bathroom for a quickie before sixth period.”
Grinning Faith looks at him and lick her lips “You know it, baby”
Everyone starts laughing, except for Xander who looks at Faith with wide eyed “Are you serious?” Everyone starts laughing harder
Still grinning, she walk up to him “Am I ever serious?” I love this, he’s so freakin gullible. Faith and everyone else for that matter knew that Xander had a crush on her for the past two years, ever since she pummeled his at the time girlfriend to the ground for cheating on him with her at the time boyfriend. Guess he’s always hand a thing for girls who could handle there own.
Xander crosses his arms and pouts childishly “Why don’t you ever give me a strait answer?”
“Well… I could answer that, but if I did that would mean that I would be giving you a strait answer, thus rendering this entire rant irrelevant.” Wow, that was completely coherent. “Therefore I can not answer you any further for fear I have said too much already”
A wave of confusion washes over him. “Wait What?”
Faith smile smugly “Exactly!” She then turns to the rest of the group and salutes “Later people.” Then turn and walks off en route for the gym.

A few moments later, a guy walks up to Wesley and taps him on the shoulder. “Say Mate, can I ask you a quick question?”
Wes whirls around glances the guy once over then shrugs “Sure, what do you need?”
“That chit… ah girl that just left, her name isn’t by any chance Faith is it?”
Xander suddenly and defensively pops up in front of him. “Why?”
The new guy raises a questioning eyebrow. “What’s it to you?”
“Well she’s … She’s my girlfriend and I think I deserve to know why some Billy Idol wanna be wants to talk to her.”
Cordelia sees the guys jaw tighten and pushes her brother away “Xander! She is not your girlfriend, now shut up before this guy rip’s you a new one” She rolls her eyes then turns back to the guy “Don’t mind him, our mom dropped him on his head when he was a baby” The guy chuckles and nods acceptingly “And yeah, her name is Faith”
Wesley chimes in behind her. “Mind if I ask why you want to know?”
“Just curious, used to know a girl by that name, who looked like her.”
“Oh”
“Right, so thanks for the help, I’ll just be on my way” He looks over at Xander “Oh and don’t worry Peaches, I’m not gonna to hit on her…” He grins “Least not just yet” He gives a quick nod then turns to walk away.
Cordelia calls out after him “Hey guy, do you have a name?”
“Ah, call me Spike”
