Together Again: 1

by Spikes Queen

Willow knocked on Buffy’s door and Buffy opened to door. “Hey Will,” she said, sadly.

“We have to go to L.A. There’s trouble,” she said, coming into Buffy’s living room.

“I told Angel that I needed sometime,” Buffy said, crossing her arms.

“Angel said it was an emergency and he wouldn’t have bothered you if he didn’t think you should be there. Faith and I are going,” she said.

“Give me 20 minutes,” Buffy said.

Later, Buffy entered the lobby at Wolfram and Hart.

Harmony saw her and scowled. “What are you doing here?” She hissed

“Angel called and asked for me to come,” Buffy said, going to Angel’s office.

“Buffy,” Wesley greeted.

“Where’s Angel?” Buffy asked, crossing her arms.

“On his way. He was in England getting information. He called a few hours ago,” Gunn said.

“How do you make a choice like that?!” Came a familiar English voice.

Buffy’s eyes widened and filled with tears.

“Spike, I cant lose her,” Angel said, opening the doors.

“I didn’t say you were wrong,” Spike grumbled.

“Sorry. Just I’m frustrated,” Angel said.

Neither seemed to noticed Buffy, Faith, and Willow in the room.

“Aren’t we all?” Spike said.

“Angel? Spike?” Wesley said with hope.

Angel and Spike finally looked up.

“Buffy,” Angel said.

Buffy’s eyes were locked on Spike with tears in her eyes.

Angel looked at Spike. “We found a way, but I didn’t like the loop hole,” he said. “How is she?”

Wesley shook his head and only anger showed on his face. “She’s gone. The demon took over,” he said, coldly.

Spike got his attention over to Wes. “We’ll get her back. There’s gotta be a way around this,” he growled.

Angel sat down heavily and tired to figure things out. “Do you know if we can do anything?” He asked.

“I’m working on it,” Wes said.

Buffy was only have listening to the conversation, and went towards Spike.

After what seemed like forever, Buffy was in his arms, sobbing.

Spike pulled her up against him tightly. “Oh, god Buffy,” he whispered.

Angel looked over at them and smiled slightly. “Spike’s right. We’ll find a way around it.”

Spike eyes opened and met Angel’s as smile graced his lips.

Willow went to Angel. “I’ll help in whatever way I can,” she said.

“Right now, I need sleep and so do you guys,” Angel said.

“I’ll take them,” Gunn said.

Willow and Faith followed Gunn but Buffy and Spike seemed oblivious to the world around them. Willow smiled and went over to them. “Come on guys. You can have your talk in private,” she said, touching Buffy’s shoulder.

Buffy lifted her face from Spike’s chest. She couldn’t bring herself to leave his embrace. She looked up at him and sniffled.

Spike smiled and wrapped an arm around her shoulder as they headed to the elevator.

Later, Buffy was snuggled up against Spike in their queen sized bed.

Spike felt her tears on his shirt and gently wiped them away.

“Spike, how did this happen?” She whispered.

“Don’t know. Stopped caring a while ago.
Had to worry about other people, couldn’t worry about me,” he said.

“How come no one told me?” Buffy asked.

“Thought about it. Told Andrew not to,” Spike said, a little guilty.

“Why?” Buffy asked.

“Didn’t know if I would fit into your life,” Spike said.

Buffy smiled through her tears. “You’ll always fit into my life,” she said, kissing him softly.

Spike wrapped his arms around her and purred as he pulled her against him. “I missed you,” he whispered.

“I missed you too,” Buffy said. “I love you.”

Spike looked down at her head and she was smiling a little. “I love you too, Baby,” he said.

Their lips met in a kiss and suddenly, they weren’t tired anymore.
