“Giles”, Nikki shouted as she came in the front door. She had left the dance early, telling everybody that she wasn’t feeling well. She really needed to talk to Giles about what had happened earlier and now he was nowhere to be found.

On her way out the door she found a note on the table that simply read ‘Gone to the library’.

“Typical”, she mumbled as she closed the door and walked toward the road.

Nikki was so caught up in her own thoughts that she didn’t notice Spike come out of the shadows and follow her to the library.
