Our Farewell: Wash It All Away

by BelovedSlayer

With a rough shove, Buffy the Vampire Slayer landed on the ground with a loud “oof” escaping her

lips, knocking the very breath out of her lungs as she became very close to dislocating her right shoulder.

She reluctantly glanced up at her attacker, his bestial growls sending shivers down the back of her spine in the process.

She slowly got up, wiping away traces of dirt from her dark jeans, deep cuts

and contusions appearing on her arms and face as she double kicked the bloodsucker in the abdomen.

She then proceeded to uppercut the vamp square under

his jaw, sending him flying against a nearby mausoleum with a loud sickening crack.

“You should of never walked into my Slayground,” Buffy taunted, plunging

her stake deep into the vampire’s dead heart as he rapidly began to turn into instant dust.

She quietly began to stumble out of the dark cemetery when the familiar dizziness overtook her once again.

Her breathing became shallow as she learned herself against another

mausoleum, trying to steady herself. She felt wobbly, as if she were ready to pass out.

What bothered her more than the symptoms itself was the very feeling of something inside her kicking her stomach.

What the….?

“Ok, I so do not like this. This is definitely not good for poor little Buffy,” she whispered half heartedly

as she clutched her stomach, tripping over a broken tombstone before her as she succumbed into unconsciousness.

She heard more whispers in her thoughts as she fought against the unconsciousness that took over.

“In the end you’re always alone. You’re all you got.”

“I’ll never forget.”

“Close your eyes.”

Angel, the vampire cursed with a conscious, stood on the roof of Wolfram and Hart, his eyes looking

into the glittering skyline of downtown L.A. light rain sprinkling softly around

his black duster jacket but he didn’t seem to pay any attention to the detail.

All he could think about was her and the forgotten memories that only he himself remembers.

That perfect day was all he could think about and the very thought of it caused him to brood more intensely than ever.

The memories that were instilled in his mind gave him deep shivers of himself being able to

have the chance to hold his beloved in his arms, breathing in her vanilla

scent that seemed to intoxicate him, his love for her so intense it felt like a deep ache within his cursed soul.

Angel continued to stare at the beautiful skyline, thinking only of his beloved Buffy.

Buffy finally opened her eyes, eyelashes fluttering against

her lids as she looked around at her surroundings, puzzled.

Now what the hell just happened? I was at the cemetery one second and poof! I’m at the hospital. I *hate* hospitals.

She was lying in a bed, small tubes and a IV attached to her arms, the

beeping sounds of a heart monitor were the only sounds emancipating from her bare room.

“You’re at the Sunnydale Hospital sweetheart. Are you feeling any better?” a motherly looking nurse

asked her sweetly, causing more confusion to the Slayer as she took her temperature.

“I guess. Just a little tired is all,” Buffy mumbled, wiping away the last dregs of sleep from her eyes.

“Well, it’s a good thing your friend found you. She saw you passed out over by the Shady Hill cemetery. You’re okay but we’re gonna admit you to stay overnight for observation.”

“Which friend?” Buffy asked suspiciously to the nurse who was fluffing her pillow.

“A red head. Said her name is Willow something.”

“Where is she?” the Slayer questioned.

“She’s waiting outside the door.”

“Can she come in?”

“Yes but visitors must leave after 8.”

Willow appeared, a smile plastered on her pale face.

“Hey Will,” Buffy said casually.

“Hey Buffy. Feeling better?”

“A little but the weird thing is, I keep getting dizzy and dizzy and earlier when I was on patrol, I felt something in my stomach kicking me.”

Willow’s face lit up in surprise and puzzlement. “You don’t think you could of…you know…” she replied.

“I don’t see how. I haven’t done…it…since…Riley,” Buffy murmured.

“Weird,” Willow answered. “when did this started happening?”

“Right after I left L.A. visiting Angel,” Buffy answered, hazel

eyes widened at the sudden possibility. She didn’t want to finish the rest.

“Did you and Angel…?”

“No. We just talked about keeping our distance and what not. Even if we did do it, he would become Angelus again and I so do not want to go there again,” Buffy sighed deeply.

Willow answered. “Well Buffy if you started getting the symptoms after you and Angel talked, it could mean one thing…”

“How could it happen though? I don’t remember us doing…it..yo know. There’s something else,” Buffy whispered.

“After I got on the bus on the way here, when I would sleep I would keep getting these flashbacks and these words I might have said to Angel but knew I never said them cause I don’t remember. These flashbacks had images of me and Angel doing... you know what, but at his apartment in that old hotel in L.A. But the twist was, he was human. He was made human again by the Powers. I don't know if these things are true or not. They're really starting to give me the wiggins and I hate getting the wiggins.”

"Don't worry Buffy we'll find a way to fix it. I know we will.
We'll wait and see what happens when the doctor shows up," Willow held her hand in comfort. " What happens if the stuff I dreamt about were true. You know how it is when I dream about stuff Will. They come true. What happens if i was pregnant with our kid?”
"Like I said Buffy we wait and see what happens. Here comes the doctor now." the two women turned and glanced at

Buffy's doctor entering the room with a clipboard. She was a woman in her 40's who looked sympathetic but very smart. Her name was Dr. Collins.

"Good evening Buffy, Willow. How are you doing?" she asked directly at Buffy. " Good I guess but I keep having dizzy symptoms and I'm starting to throw up a lot, plus Im feeling kicks in my stomach," said the exasperated Slayer.

"Oh I see, well, when you were asleep we already did the tests to see if there was anything wrong with you," replied Dr. Collins. Buffy and Willow just glared at her.

"There's nothing wrong with you Buffy, except you have some lacerations and a minor concussion. Besides that you're perfectly healthy, but I'm not sure if you're ready to hear this," warned the doctor.

Buffy and Willow looked at each other.

"Are you ready for this, Buffy?"

"Yeah, I think I am but im starting to get butterflies that are not…good. just hold my hand, Will." Buffy felt nervous, but she felt strangely happy.

" Ok, Doctor you can tell us. I'm ready to hear the news."

"Ok. Buffy... this may get you excited I don’t really know, but...you're… pregnant. Congratulations."
