Dreams of the imminent future: One

Buffy awoke with a start. She had seen a weird image of Willow being chased by a demon and falling to the ground. The demon held her to the ground and for some reason Willow didn't (or couldn't) get away. Another demon-like creature stabbed her through the heart with a long white sword and Willow screamed before dying. Sweat poured out of Buffy's face as she struggled out of her mangled sheet covers and got dressed, quick as lightning. She ran down the street to the park where her dream had taken place. A mangled body lay in the grass motionless. Buffy saw the demons go through what seemed like a space-time portal. Buffy ran to Willow and shook her. She tried to check the pulse but couldn't find one. In the darkness she felt herself being watched. She turned around slowly and said out loud, "This is not the time to mess with me." The figure of a tall, handsome boy came into sight, walking towards her. Before her steaks were out, she realized who it was. He was Angel. The vampire with a soul. " How ya doin' toots?" Angel asked mockingly,"Ya scared me." "Have you been here all night?" Buffy's voice contorted with anger as she spoke. " No. I saw you running over here so I decided to check things out. Just a little too late I guess." Angel smirked at Buffy. Buffy didn't say anything but kneeled on the ground and turned to face Willow again. When Angel did not take this as a dismissal, she said without looking at him," You can go now." " I'd rather stay with you." he said lovingly. " You know I can't be with you right now." Buffy picked up Willow's lifeless body as she spoke and, started walking away. " On Halloween Buff?" He lunged towards her and held her by the throat against a tree trunk. Buffy started blacking out and then, she woke up.
