Home sweet Hell: Time for Hello

It had been five years since Dawn had left. She walked down the familiar streets, people passing by blissfully unaware of her presence. Nothing had changed; Sunnydale high still stood a top the Hellmouth. Buffy was still a counselor, Buffy how would she react to Dawn’s transformation? Gone was the sweet innocent girl with long brown hair, and cute loose cloths, they were replaced with tight leather pants, blood red corset tops and3 in heeled boots, and a set of sharp fangs. Dawn was no longer the Scoobie she had once been; she was now a powerful vampire a childe of a master vampire. He was the reason for her return she had come to “pay her respects.” This required her to return to Sunnydale to the gang and to him, Spike the reason she had left. She loved him but he only saw her as Buffy’s little sister. That was all about to change; she was just as strong as he was. He would come to love her by ANY means necessary.
As she neared the Bronze she could hear the traditional music blaring from the speakers, a couple was shamelessly making out in the ally.
“ Xan?” Xander Harris turned around to see who was calling his name revealing the blonde behind him against the wall.
“ Buffy! What is going on? Are you two together?” Dawn couldn’t believe it her sister, and Xander, the demon magnet?
“ Dawn? Is that you? You’re all sexy vamp looking.”
“Xander!”
“Sorry Buff its true.”
“Its okay I know I look different, I’ve changed a lot. SO when did this little affaire start?”
“ About 4 and a half years ago. There was this big bad and Xander almost died and that was when I realized that I couldn’t live without him”
“ AHHH how cute, the slayer fell in love with a non demon!”
“Dawn!”
“Hey I’m just joking. So are we gonna stand here all night or are we gonna go inside we have a lot to talk about.”
“ OMG does any one else know you’re here yet?”
“ No it was chance that I ran into you my first stop was going o be the magic shop.”
“ Hey Dawny…”
“ No Xander Dawn just Dawn.”
“ Um okay DAWN when we see will don’t stare okay?”
“ Okay but why?”
“ You’ll see”
As they walked into the Bronze Dawn was shocked. Behind the bar was Willow; at least she looked like Willow. She stood behind the bar wearing something very much like what Dawn was wearing, and she was flirting with EVERY one in sight. This was definitely not the willow she remembered.
“Buffy, Xander over hear!”
“ Coming Wills. See what I mean ever since she started to work here she’s changed! Even emptied out the back room and serves to demons. You know kitties and blood stuff like that”
Blood? That grabbed Dawn’s attention. “ What kind of blood? Human?”
“ Yeah weird huh?”
“ Dawn is that you?”
“Hey Willow, yeah it’s me”
“ Hey I love the outfit were did you get it?”
“ New York”
“ Cool always wanted to go there, so what have you been up to besides what you told me already.”
“ Wait. What you’ve kept in touch with WILLOW but not me?”
“ Yeah well see, she wasn’t sure hoe would handle her umm leaving.”
“ Why wouldn’t I?”
“ Just forget it Buffy, I’m here to have fun. So where is every one else? You know Giles, Spike?”
“ Not sure Giles is probably of with this new lady friend of his from his days as Ripper” Buffy visibly shutters remembering what happened last time Ripper came back “ Spike is probably sulking and brooding in his crypt.”
“ Spike sulking and brooding? Pulling an Angel are you serious?”
“ Yeah he said he made a HUGE mistake years ago he gets like this around this time of year. In another week or so we’ll be at each other’s throats again. You know ‘do as I say or I’ll stake you’ kind of thing”
“I see so Xan man what have you been doing other then my sister?”
Xander blanched at this comment “ Umm nothing really I own my own construction company now” Xander was as red a tomato and obviously looking ANYWHERE other then Dawn and Buffy.
“ SO Willow they tell you’re now in competition with Willies is that true? What does the owner think of your special customers?”
“Well I am the owner so she doesn’t mind one bit as long as they don’t touch my unwilling human customers. You wanna check it out?”
“Sure lead the way. And you to can get back to what you were doing when I came in but remember Buffy I don’t want to be ‘Aunt Dawn’ ANY time soon got that?”
Xander looked as if someone had slapped him across the face and Buffy was about ready to kill Dawn for that comment.
Willow led Dawn into the back room of the Bronze. It was filled with the intoxicating smell of fresh human blood, cigar smoke, and demons of virtually every type. A group of minions sat around the back table barely noticing Dawn enter into the room.
“ Dawn can I get you anything before we have to return to your sister and Xander?”
“Yeah your best blood please,” At this the minions took notice, Willow NEVER gave the best blood in the house to them that was reserved for the boss and Angel on the rare occasion that he was in town. This vampire must be someone special to get that stuff. The boss would want to know about her presence. “ SO this thing between Xander and my sister you okay with it?”
“ Yeah I guess I mean I got over the whole I love him and it hurts to see him with other girls, so now I fill my life with shameless flirting and empty one night stands. Uhh how pathetic am I?”
“ Hey not as pathetic as me the only reason Io returned her was to find and win back my Sire.”
“ In all the years you never did tell me who that was.”
“ I know I really don’t want him to be staked by my sister and that is EXACTLY what would happen if I were to tell anyone who it was at this point in time, but I assure you, you will know soon okay?”
“ Okay sure. Here’s your blood drink quick or they’ll get worried.”
“ So why does Buffy let you keep this place going full of demons that want to kill her and vise versa?”
“ Simple she isn’t allowed back here, no matter how much strength she uses or even magic she could not enter. And the demons are not allowed in the Bronze. It works pretty well or at least has for the past couple of years. SO what brings you back to this little piece of heaven, hell whatever?”
“ I have unfinished business with my Sire. And I have followed him back to here. Hey thanks for the blood Will I’ll probably be here often from now okay?”
“ Of course no problem in fact I could really use a demon, no offense, to run the room. You up for it?”
“ Sure like I’ll be the manager?”
“ Yeah what ever just I would rather not have a coyote Ugly bar back here I like it pretty quiet so the humans don’t get curious.”
“ Darn it I was already to go out and buy the outfits too”
“Ha ha very funny. Now lets get back to the two lovebirds. Oz might be here by now maybe even Angel.”
“ Angel not Angelus?”
“Oh no his soul is stuck on good and tight did it myself. Which reminds me if you know EVER want yours back just tell me can do it any time”
“ Um thanks but no thanks I’m good no pun intended”
The two friends reentered the main room to find that Angel had in fact shown up.
Crap he’ll smell the blood and find me to be Spike’s dang it
“Oh Hey Angel you remember Dawn right? Of course you do silly me”
“Dawn is that you? You look really different,” What changed about her? There, there is no heartbeat! She smells of fresh blood “ What do you guys want to drink?”
“ Well aren’t we in a good no broody mood today”
“ Shut up Xander.”
“ Hey”
“ I’ll have an Long Island Ice tea. I’ll have a beer, make that two, and I’ll have a rum and Coke.”
“Okay got that, hey Dawn can you come give me a hand with all these?”
“ Umm sure.”
“ That’s odd Angel NEVER needs help getting the drinks. And to pull Dawn away from us when she JUST got back. There is def something up.”
“ Yo Buff calm down he has a soul its bound to change him a bit. And so he needed help big whoop, you’re reading WAY to far into this.”
“ I guess you’re right but things have been really odd since Dawn came home you know?”
“NO I don’t really know”
Over at the bar Angel and Dawn stood waiting for the drinks.
“ So Angel how has life been treating you?”
“Pretty good you? Or should I say your Unlife”
“ SO you figured it out.”
“ Yeah pretty hard to miss, SO when did it happen?”
“ About five years ago right before I left in fact it was the reason I left.”
“ And let me guess Buffy has no idea and you want it to stay that way for now?”
“ Correct on both parts. She’ll freak out and stake sp... I mean my Sire”
“ Spike? You were about to say Spike! Spike is your Sire?!?!?!”
“ Yes okay yes but don’t you dare tell my sister or that precious little soul of yours is history!”
“ You can’t take it only willow can and she wont!”
“ Oh yes she will if I turn her.”
“ You wouldn’t!”
“ I would. I’m not sweet little innocent Dawn, nor am I a little minion of Spike’s I am Dawn the master vampire! Look drop it the drinks are ready now lets go back to the gang and pretend that I am still the same old Dawn okay?”
“ Wow she’s changed a lot no wonder Spike turned her she makes a mean vamp. And Gods Willow as a Vampire just the thought all that power and fire.”
Just as the drinks were brought to the table the door to the Bronze opened. In walked a Billy idol look alike with distinguished cheek boned, bright bleach blood hair, and a face that screamed come get me!
“ Where is she? I know she’s her! Willow where is she?”
Angel looked over at Dawn just as she slipped into the back room with Willow right behind her.
“Spike calm down. Who are you looking for?”
“ You’re sister who else?”
“ Well generally its me, not my sister you’re looking for.”
“Now why would I come here looking for you when my Dawn is here in this building?”
“ You’re Dawn? Spike are you drunk?”
“ Not at this time. Yes my Dawn. Wait. Do mean to tell me that she hasn’t told you? That you haven’t figured it out? And Angel even you didn’t notice it or did your little soul tell you not to?”
“ Hold it what is going on here? Angel what in the world is talking about.”
“He’s talking about your sister Dawn, his childe.”
“ His CHILDE! HOW DARE YOU I’M GONNA KILL YOU. TURNING MY SISTER HOW DARE YOU. AND YOU ANGEL YOU KNEW AND DIDN’T TELL ME I’LL KILL YOU BOTH!!!!!”
“ Buffy calm down you’re making a scene”
“ Shut up Xander you’re not involved in this. Willow! Willow? Where’s Willow?”
“I’m right here, if you don’t calm down right now I’ll throw you all out! If you are willing to calmly talk about his I have emptied the back room and we can got here and talk but I will not have you destroying or dusting anything in my bar got that?”
“Fine just because its you Willow.”
“ Thank you no Dawn is waiting in there for you guys, behave or else.”
The scoobies walked into the back room all very confused and nervous.
“ Umm hey Dawn sooo.”
“ Yes Xander I am a vampire, and yes Buffy I did tell Willow before you I knew that you wouldn’t take it well and that you would go out and kill Spike as soon as you could. I wouldn’t let that happen so I told Willow. Angel only knew cause he well because he’s a vampire. How Spike found out I was back is beyond me at this point.”
“ My minions saw you.”
“ Fine then that’s how WE will talk later Spike right now I believe that my sister is about to explode if she doesn’t say or hit something.”
“ I I I I I just can’t believe it Dawn how long, how long have you been a demon?”
“ About 5 years now that is why I left I couldn’t handle being around you guys at that time. Did you all really not notice that shortly after I left that Spike also left? Or did you just ignore that little fact?”
“ We didn’t really care that he had left.”
“ Thanks love guess I’m real important aint I”
“ Hush Spike none of that now”
“ How dare you speak to me like that my CHILDE”
“ I may be your child but I am also a very strong vampire and I would recommend you not doing anything to upset me at this point or you will pay for it later okay ‘love’”
Buffy and Xander, had had enough to process for one night and headed home. Each of them contemplating what life with this new Vampy Dawn would truly be like.
“So what do we do now? I mean she’s still our Dawn we can’t just stake her.”
“But, Xander she’s not Dawn any more she’s a vampire.”
“ So we’ve work with fangs before.”
“ But I have this really odd feeling about Dawn she’s just not like herself at all. Just the clothes alone make me feel odd. And she kept in touch with Willow, and Willow didn’t tell me. And of all the vamps in the world her Sire had to Spike. Spike the one that loved me, the one that kills slayers for fun. Aghhhhh”
“ Wow Buffy calm down it will be okay it’s not like she’s all evil or something She loves us and we love her be happy to have her back.”
“ But I don’t think she is good, Angel says she is soulless and I kept getting a big bad feeling from her.”
“ Come on you saw her with us she’s the same old dawn… with a demon”
“ Same old Dawn the great actress. Did you see how she responded to Spike, forcefully, not like a normal childe, she has power, and she worries me.”
“ Well she is the key and all”
“ I didn’t even remember that. God we have to call Giles right NOW.”
“Why I mean what can he do?”
“ He can help us stop her”
“ Stop her from what?”
“ Opening the Hellmouth duh why else would she return to Sunnydale?”
Dawn, Spike, Angel, and Willow closed up the bronze early. The four of them had a lot to talk about.
“ So Angel should I call you grandpa I mean great grandpa?”
“ Umm no I don’t think that would be a good idea.”
“ Why I mean you and by sister aren’t doing the dirty anymore. Are you?’
“ NO!” Dawn’s eyebrow arched as Angel and willow screamed in unison
“ Willow? Why did you say no? Oh I get it you two are doing the nasty. Kinky, a vamp with a soul and a powerful witch. Is this why the permanent soul?”
“Yeah kinky Peaches, how come you never shared this tid-bit of information with me?”
“Because no one was supposed to know!”
“ Ohh a secret I love secrets!”
“ Cool it boys. No game faces here Okay?”
“ Only for you love”
“ Thanks Spike.”
“ Now Dawn why have you come back after all these years. Why now?”
“ Isn’t it obvious? I missed my Daddy.”
“Umm nice to see you too little bit.”
“ I’m not ‘bit’ anymore I am Dawn, a nice ironic name don’t you think?”
“ Cute.”
“ Look we need to talk with Giles or Wes, find out what it means to have you as a vampire.”
“Leave it to Angel to suck the fun out of this. Yes I am the Key Yes I can open the Hell mouth, no not alone, No I don’t at this time know how to. Does that answer any questions you might have for the Watchers?”
“ I guess but we still need to let them know that you’re here and that you are not evil”
“O course we do I was planning on going to his house later tonight.”
“ Well uhh hate to disappoint you three but it is uhh well dawn, you can’t leave now, but you’re welcome to crash here. I’m heading home see you guys later.”
“By Wills hey thanks for not telling people about me these past years.”
“ No problem.”
Willow left thought filling her head. “Why did she come back without telling me? Spike her Sire? She’s the Key, and still does magic? God what have we gotten ourselves into?”
“If you’ll excuse us Angel but my sire and I have a LOT to talk about right now.”
“Oh of coarse, I’ll just go to the other room.”
“Thank you”
As Angel left a smirk began to grow on Dawn’s face.
“I thought they would never let the two of us alone.”
“ Not by choice that they did. Luv. No tell me why did you really come back to Sunny hell for? I know it wasn’t cause you missed me.”
“ Of coarse it is and it just happens that you live very near the Hell mouth I intend on opening.”
“ You what?!?!? But that would…”
“Leave the world run by demons sure it should be fun. Me as their queen what great fun it would be. What? Why the shock? You didn’t think I was truly good did you?… Oh how cute you did.”
“ But you spent your young years FIGHTING those demons why would you know unleash them onto the world.”
“ Why Spike because I would have power. Power to do anything I want and no one can stop me.”
“ But you can’t do it yourself.”
“ I know that is why you are going to help me. You, Willow, Angel and even Giles. All of you are going to do as I say.”
“ Oh really luv and how do you think you will accomplish this?”
“ Simple Willow and Giles will be my childes, Angel will be angelus, and you will because you love me and I am more powerful then you.”
“ First of all you are not more powerful then me…”
“ Really? I am a master vampire, a witch and the key. Remember Giles saying that one day I may gain powers well you see I have, so yes I am more powerful then you. Don’t look so upset, you’re still extremely hot and strong, and my sire so you have my love and respect… for now.”
Hmm she’s gotten feisty “ Well love if you insist”
“Oh I do, now why don’t we go on out before Gramps pulls something from trying to hear us in here.”
“ Has the poof been listening in on us?”
“ Of course he has. ISN’T THAT RIGHT ANGEL?”
“ Huh what?” had Angel been able he would have been the color of a cherry by then
“ I said you still Love Spike don’t you”
“WHAT!?” spike and Angel said in perfect unison.
“ Oh my gosh you should your face’s if only I had film and you showed up on it!”
“ Um Dawn what are you babbling about?”
“ The look on Angels face when I outed him.”
< What the fuck is going on? The poof the great poof stills loves me, > “STILL? Peaches, I mean Angel is she right? Is my childe telling me the truth?”
“How the hell?”
“ You mean I was right? Oh goody I just thought it would be fun to tease but I was right, oh how cute daddy and great grand daddy sitting in a tree…”
“Sod off luv.”
“ Now now no need for that kind of language, daddy. I think you two need to have a very long conversation. While I try to sleep, just be sure to keep it down okay? I know Spike is a screamer but I hope to get some sleep okay?”
“ Bloody hell”
With that Spike and Angel were alone for the first time in years. The sexual tension in the air crackled.
“Well what now?”
“ Yo answer me Angel was Dawn right? Do you still love me?”
“ Yes there are you happy DAWN! I love him!”
Till then Dawn had been listening from the door. Two of the most important people in her plan were finally being honest.
“ Good now shag each other senseless!”
“ Well you heard the lady, and who am I to deny my grand childe?”
With that Angel stepped forward encompassing Spike with his arms. Their lips met and a bolt of electricity flowed between them.
