little slayer: prologue

Faith died, somewhere in the beginning of season 7, Spike didn’t go crazy after getting his soul back. He just hangs at the bar a lot. And Malou in the story has inherited the house of her parents and her aunt helped her sell it, the same aunt also made sure Malou got the money because she just thought she was entitled to it with guidance… Malou then went to America to try and find her luck there because an uncle lived there too and he could help her if necessary

Cut to spike at the bar having a drink and smoke. A very young girl comes to sit next to him, ordering a drink an taking out her pack of cigarettes and lighter. Cut to the girl trying to light her cigarette. Her lighter wont work.
Girl: swearing under her breath: verdomme (Dutch for damned)
Spike: (offering his lighter) sure you wanna do that to your precious lungs luv?
Girl: (gratefully taking the lighter an lighting her cigarette) thanks. (then, looking him in the eye) you want to do this here or outside?
Spike: excuse me?
Girl: the me kicking your arse
Spike not knowing just what to say just stares at her
Girl: (rolls her eyes) you vampire, me stake you… comprendre?
Spike: still stares at the little girl in amazement, then realizing: you’re the new one, the new slayer?
Girl: good guess, now let’s skip the chit-chat and get this over with now shall we?
Spike: don’t bother, I’m not gonna hurt you
Girl: not that I’m worried about. Give me one good reason not to stake you right here right now?
Spike: cause if you would think I’d be a real threat you would have done so already.
Girl: and why shouldn’t I see you as a threat?
Spike: I have a soul.
Girl: bummer
Spike: want to tell me your name luv?
Girl: (considers this, shrugs… what the hell?) Malou
Spike: names Spike
Malou: (chuckles) the great Spike? With a soul? That’s hilarious.
Spike: glad it’s so amusing kid. (seeing for the first time just how young the girl looks) How old are you?
Malou: what’s it to you?
Spike: just curious junior
Malou: (shrugs) 10
